  1. There is! Gee Atherton and a moto rider at Fort William. patches referred to it earlier.
  2. Haven't even fitted them yet, but initial impressions are : awesome. great weight to them, proper machining and replaceable pins in the form of grub screws. I didn't choose the pin type, this is how they were delivered... landed cost was approx 660 with the gbp at 16.5
  3. It's a perfectly acceptable request. they're following up on their rules and requirements and taking rogue riding seriously Edit: if you don't recognise the problem that these uploads represent ito rogue riding and land access for us riders going into the future, then you're part of the problem.
  4. Damn. Bruni is DEFINITELY one to watch going forwards.
  5. It definitely is tonsillitis. Bacterial. Just got the first course if anti biotics and damn, am I swimming...
  6. Wasn't it MAXXIS that owns the "UST" brand / trademark? I heard somewhere that tires that want to be certified as UST need to go to them for testing and approval before using that little "UST" logo. Which is also why there are manufacturers with their own interpretation of the standard so they don't have to pay the licensing fee - TLR for Schwalbe, etc etc.
  7. LOL! Then you clearly didn't know your limits! If you want to do DH but don't want to scare the family, get a long travel AM bike. The newer ones are just as capable on all but the most insane courses here in SA, and as for the kit, just say you want to have the most amount of protection possible just in case something happens.
  8. Did he get DQ'd for running "out of track"?
  9. medical aid would cover it - it's just a scare tactic by your folks, or a bit of a misunderstanding on what the coverage is. It's only dangerous if you consistently take on things which are above your skillset. Even then, as long as you have the basics right, it's only really dangerous ito broken arms, legs, collarbones and ribs. The guys that mangle their necks are either rank amateurs, or doing something stupid, or a complete fluke. Way outside the norm.
  10. Awesome. Thanks Nige! Duane did correct me earlier though.
  11. Yeah, but I doubt it's one of those
  12. No, not really. You only get a bit more of a range in between the largest and smallest gears. Would make a difference if you were running a single ring up front in that the transitions between gears would be smoother and less noticeable
  13. Yeah. And as I said before - quite easy to put a bit more of a flare in the triangle to get around the q factor / axle width conundrum.
  14. They probably mean that the resultant outer width of the dropouts is 158mm
  15. He had to get to London for some function. One For The Boys, which seems to be a fashion charity ball.
  16. Jealous. Sitting here all medicated and I can't even speak. Too sore. Fecking tonsillitis.
  17. Eish, dude - I'd still take it to an engineering shop to be welded. Hose clamp isn't going to do the job for long!!!
  18. I'm reading the Pinkbike review now... Interedasting...
  19. You mean the hookless bead? Supposed to be stronger...
