  1. WHAT!? Guard it with your LIFE. It's the wrong size and colour anyway.
  2. Nope. Not likely at all, with aluminium frames coming in at north of R 20k incl shock. Nowhere near the value you'd get from the Trance.
  3. Oh and Uni, will be SO much better to ride than your old one!
  4. And a proper fork when he sells the Fox. Cos those new CTD units, even though they're "fixed" are still shaite.
  5. Nice one! Those "good guys" are the hub's resident Sheriff - Wyatt Earp. Good oke that...
  6. Jees man. Enough with the black spade! The oke wants a trail / all mountain bike, not an xc racer.
  7. Yep. Dig all day as well for those who want to. Can get far more done before the clock hits BE:ER
  8. Lol. Whenever I see a bike with a HA of more than 68 I think it looks inherently wrong...
  9. Work on my technical abilities and fitness. Will have a direct impact on how much I enjoy it!
  10. 1 canary 2 canary 3 canary 4. 5 canary 6 canary 7 canary more. How many fking canaries, nobody cares at all!
  11. Dan, the canaries are upper, upper upper, upper upper upper and upperest. Lol.
  12. Yet another marketing ploy. In motorcycling, the more expensive helmets are generally lighter and have different materials on the shrouds and reinforcement material, which means less rotational mass on impact. That is what makes the difference on an impact, where the difference in weights measures in kilograms rather than tens of grams. THEN the Bell marketing ploy would be relevant. Not in MTB, unless you're talking full face.
  13. He was correcting the current list price of the frame. Second hand, still worth R 10k max.
  14. The name brands will probably have better polystyrene moulding technology, true, but - and this is where people get confused - the higher prices within a particular brand's heirarchy do NOT mean better protection. They mean lighter carcasses and better airflow through a helmet's vents, without sacrificing structural rigidity and strength. That's why they're more expensive - the manufacturers have to try to devise ways of making them lighter and cooler (temp wise) without sacrificing strength - this means many hours in front of a CAD program, wind tunnel testing and impact testing. NOTHING to do with more $$$ = better protection. That is a misconception. In fact, my R 500 bell faction will probably have BETTER protection than the Bell Volt, due to its better back-of-head coverage and lack of venting, meaning that there's less place for random *** to get through.
  15. You can do it again as soon as the new year hits. During the year yon need to have a 5 month gap between fitness assessments.
  16. So what's your take on Nandos, woolworths, Mr Price and Spur? Not local anymore? They all either source product from international suppliers or have expanded internationally. Does that not make them local businesses? South African businesses? Crow has no affiliation to any manufacturer. He is an unbiased rider, reporting on what he likes and appreciates in a bike and relaying that information when it becomes relevant to other potential buyers. No marketing there. Just honest advice or reporting. Same as when someone posts a link to a pinkbike article on a ccdb cs shock. It's relevant to us the cycling community. Why begrudge someone hus own opinion, simply because it doesn't fit your predefined criteria?
  17. Smaller, but probably maturing. And growing all the time.
  18. "Just" as in within the last few days? When did cover start? If within the last month - wait till January to do all that. If more than 7 months, do it now as it will affect your 5 yearly payback and next year's premium increases.
  19. Just shows the difference in preferences. I love my reign x. Maybe it's just cos I'm a bigger oke and it suits me better, I dunno. But I love my bike. Can see it lasting till it breaks, and I'll be uber sad if there isn't a replacement frame in stock.
  20. Sweet. Don't know if you noticed, but there's MORE!!! Further up from the start of the DH trail section below the mahoooosive road gap that was on the National section. Apparently, that is. Then there's more by the Flow trail. Don't know if that's still blocked off, but it looked funfunfun! Oh - I had to take it slowly on that double black section. My knee was NOT happy and any big jumps would proabbly have pushed it too far. Can't wait to do it when it's better!!!
  21. Thanks, Pappa! Sure that a mate and I rode the bottom section of that. May be wrong, but if it's the one with the multi-berms that are tighter than a nun during lent, well then... They were FUN!!! I know there are other sections that are / were still being built though, so it may be another one I'm thinking of.
