  1. Just voted now. Never come across a yellow trail before, hence the assumption that it refers to jeep track
  2. Oh. Distance does not feature ito trail grading. A 50km blue trail does not become double black due to the distance and hoe much exertion you put out. That's a separate grading which can be expressed in its own right by way of the kilometer reading.
  3. Green = flowy non technical single track and jeep track. Small drops no jumps. Blue = flowy single track with technical features such as drops and jumps (table - topped) rock gardens and so on. Black = highly technical trail with large drops and gap jumps. Large degree of difficulty. Double black = trail as above but including large road gaps as well. In jhb, double black means a gentle corner scattered with loose shale. So the grading in one section would not necessarily be indicative of trail in another area. International grading is another thing entirely. Take france, for instance. Far higher technicality of trail, but then we are not France and our average rider shies away from a 5 cm drop. Which wouldn't even feature on any green trail ito a trail feature.
  4. Do you have his details? Give them to your insurer and ask them to follow it up as part of the claim.
  5. Dayyum! Nobody, and I mean NOBODY would be able to catch you if you're on one of those. Would LOVE to hear that thing openup!
  6. I dunno if I'd clock in though... May just carry on past the office! BRAAAAAAP!!!
  7. Correct, and that the X0 is serviceable (can take it apart and service the pivots, replace the pins and so on)
  8. that's the best looking little bike I've seen yet...
  9. YYYYYYANG ting ting ting ting ting...... BRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAP!!!
  10. Lol. That lucky strike bike was a goodie as well. And yes, I remember the Pepsi. Just prefer the look of the lucky strike bike
  11. My lightie is getting a ybike for crimbo. The basic 3 wheeled one. Can't wait for him to graduate and ride the trail with me!
  12. Did you not read the original post? He's in Cape Town. Unless you can get one of your CT stores to get it from you, or unless they have stock, your suggestion is (somewhat) pointless.
  13. Yeah dude. I'd REALLY like to do it myself, but i have to admit defeat and accept that Dave will be orders of magnitude more proficient than me at getting the welding / filleting done...
  14. Thinking along the lines of a steel full susser from Mercer bikes... Or his take on Wyatt's Budnitz. That thing is pure porn.
  15. That is cool... http://shop.ktm.com/media/catalog/product/cache/39/image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/7/4/74828.jpg http://cdn.motocross.transworld.net/files/2010/12/ktm-bike.jpg http://www.ktm-parts.com/mm5/graphics/00000001/3PW097300_big.jpg
  16. My take on it - I love the one piece crank arm & spider. That's pure porn. I also like the way they've managed to do the shock mount point in such a way that it becomes a feature. I also like the parts kit it's shipping with. However - I'm not a fan of the over-sized chainstays and the moulding at the head tube junction, and the way it ties up with the "standard" seat tube. Looks as if someone forgot to take a course in aesthetic design criteria... But - I'll never own one. As a through and through MTBer, I'd prefer to have the Venge, thanks... And someone needs to shorten that damn stem. It's throwing the whole bike off ito aesthetics, and if you're riding a stem that long, you're not on the right frame size (for an MTB) imo. Throws off the handling like nothing else...
  17. @igknot I suppose I just get irritated when people cannot work out the simple things for themselves. If you had looked at the thing for 5 minutes you would have seen how to do it. Did you never play with lego as a lightie, or take something apart just to see what it looked like inside? I dunno. Prise off the plastic tabs (if any) and reassess. Have a look at it and try to determine if you can do anything to remove it without going apoplectic and neanderthal on its ass. You can solve a lot of little things like this by just stopping, investigating and assessing. Then experiment. What happens if I... ? And so on. Edit: logo > lego
  18. Or do u just automatically reply to me even when I don't post? Thunk abt me much!? Btw. Pads work be ay yooooooooootifully.
  19. Erm, V12man - me!? All I did was tell him to use his noggin!
  20. Medium. For your setup as per Capricorns link. Will also mean less (potential) chain noise and better retention, not to mention better clearance in case of a rock strike.
