  1. if the cyclist was pummeling the driver, then the driver has a case of self defence. Still should just have driven away, but still...
  2. I will for sure. Day ends at 3 tomoz. I'm based in wynberg... 0 7 dos 5 eight naaaain sex uno sex sex
  3. Ja, but remember - you couldn't move that little kicker on the north shore section last time! So men r needed, not boys!
  4. Yeah... absolutely. But she appreciates the value of the Alps trip vs the Epic. Epic would wind up being at least 50% more expensive when training / kit is factored in. And training time would increase hectically, so there's that cost as well. Plus - I'd much rather fly over the gap that Peaches peached himself on!
  5. The other day I was asked if I would ever decide to do the Epic. I said no, because I'd like to do the same as Patches etc have done and do the Alps trip. She balked at that, until I told her it would actually be cheaper, and I'd enjoy it more. Then she said "as a family, or alone" I said alone, because I'd be concentrating on the riding and she & baba would be alone for the 2 weeks I was riding. But then I also want to go in the northern winter months for skiing, which is what she wanted me to say. So it seems as if I'll have 2 alps trips. One alone (with riding buddies) and one with the family, when the little one can either travel with us, or be left with grandparents!
  6. exactly... same as if you had planned / wanted to do something and the training time cut into that, and you carried on regardless.
  7. No it doesn't. What varies is the amount of k4k you get into straight away, and how much she saves for later.
  8. Dude, it's far from wasteful. Peeps just get bored, and that leads to lack of motivation / effort etc etc. As long as you're training, it doesn't matter. And heck yeah - sometimes it's all you can do is train indoors!
  9. ROFL. Dude, it happens. And it's not bad, that. Just make sure that your wife knows that it's her who retains the rights to the glint in your eye.
  10. ROFL. So it was a "yes, Dear" situation, was it!? ROFL. I get those all the time. But she just wants to be heard, man. Talk about it. She probably sees it as an unnecessary distraction, while it's a life-long passion for you. Compromise instead of writing the whole thing off... FAR better, and more realistic.
  11. Well said Hayley... And yes, it is the wasted time, not the activity itself, that grates. But also - it's not difficult to let your other half know that you are going to be longer than expected. It's called SMS / BBM / Whatsapp. Or just a phonecall. Yes, you may be sh4t on, but deep down your other half will appreciate the update, and won't hold it against you. It's all about communication.
  12. wouldn't be taking it on singletrack... It'd buck him straight out of the thing! Thinking more like family rides in Tokai etc.
  13. HAHAH!!! Would go 2nd hand dude. I know the prams etc are farking overpriced...
  14. Looked at the Jeep one the other day. Rugged, big wheels (with real air) and not badly priced at all. Will definitely be getting it, or one just like it...
  15. it's one ride, dude. And it's one of the best. You shouldn't have promised in the first place! Maybe limited yourself to one or 2, but not cancelled altogether. Architect of your own destruction you were!
  16. you bet your ass I am. Fantastic, is the word that comes to mind.
  17. I need one... We're also getting a running pram for him, so that when he's ready we (she) can take him for runs...
  18. yeah. We already have plans for when he can actually support himself (sit without assistance) and I have one of those hiking carry-chairs for him. Going to attempt Table Mountain and go walking whenever we can. He loves those pappoose things, so I'm hoping that translates to the hiking carrier. At the moment though, I take the chance to gym / exercise whenever I can. And the cool thing is that she can still go to gym - for a whole 2 hours, and just sit in the sauna if she wants to, or have a coffee at the W Cafe in our local gym, while little one is in Club V. The BEST benefit of gym, without a doubt.
  19. Oh, gosh - now that is a winner! Miss those boobies.
  20. Yeah. I may actually start recommending the bottle more often. Will make her life SO much easier. And it's not as if there's a shortage of milk!
  21. I have some of those... as well as the 5's, 10's 20's and 50's...
  22. Nice. Ours is just hitting 3 months at the moment, so it's kinda difficult for me to do the same. my OH wants to do the breastfeeding all the time, which I obviously can't do, so the best I can do is take him between feeds, change him and help to bath (which she also loves doing) It helps that over the last week he's started to only need one feed during the night. She's far, far better now in terms of sleep. As soon as my wife says tells me that she's happy to start bottle feeding (with expressed milk) I'll be there like a bear. I carry on suggesting it, as I'm a night person and she's a morning person, so it would be a helluva lot easier on her. But she's not there yet. SO for the moment I take him when I get home from the office, and play with him, cuddle him for a bit, make dinner, then take him again after dinner is finished and I have my glass of wine. She normally uses that time after 7 to have a bit of a snooze.
