  1. so true. I will do it, that's for sure. It's just a case of when. And my wife has plans to resign sometime next year, so the pressure is on. Once stuff falls into place on that side though, you can be sure I'll be going along.
  2. no, man... it's fine in traffic. Just that the clutch is / was a bit heavy. Test drove them quite extensively over the years when I had no meetings... Just walked into Honda and feigned interest (not hard to do)
  3. ROFL. Next year's tax return. That's what I'm telling myself. And at the moment dude, EVERYTHING is going to the baby, and paying docs bills & credit cards.
  4. If you can turn the airbag off on the passenger seat, the baby can sit in its car seat next to you! Braaap!
  5. damn dude, that's a very good looking build! Love the colour coding on the stem, and the gold braided cables. Looks KING.
  6. Hence the smiley! ROFL. And yes, I am still jealous.
  7. You can fit one of those Saris Bones bike racks, or the hang on Thule variety. The SARIS is a very good rack, and if you set it up properly, you won't have any damage to the paint work at all.
  8. So basically, you're blaming your Tjopness on the fact that you were "taking it easy" on the teletubbies trail and all of a sudden a storm trooper of a gap appeared? Nah. Don't buy it in the least...
  9. Patches, you're a tjop. I mean really... Not as much of a tjop as Peach, but still. AND you took your white rims, so you can't even claim to be poor. Was gutted on your behalf, bro. Any leads on the bikes that were stolen?
  10. Yeah, i do. It's a 2008 felt q620. The year before they hydroformed the hell out of the tubing, and the year that they gusseted and welded it more than a current day nuclear sub. It's helluva strong, and I've converted her to 1x9 and put a 150mm ork on the front. Here she is with the IDT wheel on and my dh bike's front wheel. Normal wheels are white spank subrosas http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/n546/mylesmayhew2409/8d760dba5c6055ce64c99a700fb9b6d9.jpg And a pic with the old fork, a 120mm Reba http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/n546/mylesmayhew2409/053550ae.jpg
  11. Absolutely. I went from 620mm on 100mm stem to 760 on 35mm. And 30mm extra travel up front. It was like extreme makeover hardtail edition.
  12. 760 on the ht and 780 on the dh bike. Got a bargain on a brave monster bar on crc. Just R 280 for that. Thik they still have the high rise as well. And ito width... I have hit one tree, and then only just brushed it, with the wider bars. But the extra control you have... My my my.
  13. Trance is the best value bike in that area, and regularly wins "best bike" awards in the UK publications. That would get my vote.
  14. nonsense, JB - the 40/28 vs 39/26 situation refers to the front chainrings tooth combinations, not the front teeth / back teeth combo. turning a 40tooth chainring is definitely harder than turning a 39t chainring.
  15. dude... that sucks soooo hard! btw - we must go for a ride sometime soon.
  16. i prefer riding in winter... trails are moist, muddy and soooo much better than the sandy *** we get in summer.
  17. lol... yeah, okay. The lack of a 52 would be a serious detriment on the flats / downs. But that would be the only detriment.
  18. Which is exactly wh you should not, under any circumstances, brake IN a corner.
  19. I'm spinning like a mofo on the straights. Until I get strong enough to turn a 36/34 up the hills, that is. May be there now, but still want to have my other gears there for the steepies.
  20. really personal preference. For years, my right was housing the back brake. I've tried keeping the front brake on the RHS, but I've reverted to the Right Rear side of the fence. For me, it's better that way. I dunno why, it just is.
  21. Hmmm... Ranga - the Crests are good, but they're not the strongest for folk above 90kg. And Warren - if that is you in the pic there in your avatar, then I'm going to assume that you're somewhere around that level. So - the crests won't be the best for you. DT swiss are a good wheel manufacturer. Just make sure to check the weight limits on some of the wheels before you put the cash n the table...
  22. it's 11-42, not 11-52 and no, no reason why not.
