  1. So true, D. Same mentality applies to those ppl we were talkin about on saturday. Meh. At least there's beer tonight. Will talk about muppitses then, and ways to get more involved.
  2. I think John'o is coming as well (from the Hogs) and I'll try to ring up a few more interested parties. John'o is always keen for that, and has good ideas as well. Don't forget the beer provider though - Ramsew!
  3. so true. Revelation / Reba will work so much better.
  4. I'm going to be sessioning it this afternoon... see what I can do after repeated attempts!
  5. Same here. I'm going for a long ride on saturday. WIll session the trails and see what's happening.
  6. Yeha, agreed all. Rode it a couple of times this pm. The changes are fantastic, even if I do say so myself! You have to carry a lot of speed into that first jump though - it's a speed sapper! Easily easily rollable though. D amn, it's good to have a good ride on that trail again.
  7. Have you already ridden it!? You little scallywag! Hoping to ride it this afternoon.
  8. And I have the beers as promised. Thanks ramsew! And yes, it does look promising so far.
  9. I reckon I'm gonna give it a miss as well. Weather be crazy, man!
  10. Haha! Yeah dude. I'm still learning, so will be a while before gaps are taken and drops are run. I know the theory back to front. It's convincing those damn hands that grabbing brakes are not a good thing!
  11. yes, boytjie... Jy heddit! Oh, and BTW - Godfrey misses you.
  12. Damn Patches, that trajectory is HuckTastic!
  13. Okay guys, To those who are (or may be) coming tomorrow… CLEARLY, the CT weather has other ideas. I mean just look at it! BUT – The build day is still on, albeit with an added proviso: Weather Dependent. If the weather is like it is now, then no way in hell will we be building, as it would be totally counter productive and any changes made will swiftly be un-made. If, however, there is just a slight bit of wind and drizzle (a la Tinkerbell spring time tea party mist-spray) then the build day will go ahead as normal, 1pm at the gate. Now, I know that many people (myself included) like having structure on their weekend, but sometimes we just have to play with what the big spaghetti monster throws at us. So – I will send out a Yea or Nay e-mail tomorrow morning, to advise on the status of the build. I’m afraid I cannot do anything more than that, as I am not holding the joystick that controls this latest frenzy of wind / rain / misery. If, however, you’re unsure, or do not get the Yea Nay e-mail, gimme a shout on the cell number listed below. 0h72 5B96I66
  14. I can vouch for that. And the suicide almost always happens to the husband. It's a highly assisted suicide, mind...
  15. DUDE!!! I am now super super super jealous! Amped to get over there! Will take a while though, so not next year. Maybe the year after! CAN'T WAIT!
  16. just a quick one... getting some high volume tires for your 26er would have the same overall effect. I know with my Minions on the hardtail, the diameter of the front wheel & tire combo is the same as a 650b with a skinny tire.
  17. P.A.K - don't listen to the haters here. An MTB with slicks is a perfectly acceptable tool for road riding. Heck, it'll be more relaxing for one (geometry wise) and the hills won't be as bad if you're not that strong a rider. I'm putting some slicks on my hardtail for the Argus next year. Will I care that the skinny ass 1.25 tires will look stoopid as fk on the bike? No. I'm riding for the heck of it, and want to participate in the spectacle again. It's a ride, for heavens sake. No need to get a road bike PURELY for one or 2 road races that you're going to do, when in fact you could up-spec your MTB instead, while also getting a spare set of wiele that always have slicks on them for when you want a bit of on road flava.
