  1. 300 cubes!? Damn, dude. Anything else you want to tell us?
  2. WOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOO! Deon - when are we building, tjom? I'm going to be able to take a "me day" at any point this week/next.
  3. Or the lack thereof, more likely. An inability to sufficiently eradicate **** from the system.
  4. Not to forget the colon, semi colon, full stop and hyphen.
  5. I'm in the same boat now. Everybody I meet thinks I'm normal ito weight and height. I'm 98 though, and am 1.81m tall. I need to lose 10kg minimum to be where I want to be again. But hang, I'll just carry on riding up to level 5 at Tokai on my DH bike. That'll sort me out!
  6. Erm - why was the guy behind him in the first place? Slow as feck, methinks. Cheat the system? How? By not paying entry fees? That's pretty dumb, if you're on a unicycle. I mean, it's not as if you're inconspicuous, is it?
  7. And if he was getting paid to race, then what the hell was he doing trying to pass a unicyclist? That's some seriously backwardly competitive sponsorship strategy, right there. Picking a guy who is so slow, he's racing unicyclists for position. In addition - if he were being paid, and it was where 2 routes converged, the technical ability levels of paid riders would have us all assume that the excursion would not have been a problem at all. Hop over the rocks or roots, or stay behind him and then bolt past when safe...
  8. Heh... slight disadvantage then. It really is a funny sight. Yes, I was one of the smallest okes at school, throughout my school career. Now, I'm taller than all but one of my mates. But he's 6ft5. And as thin as a bean-pole. Really is amusing to see the reactions of old school-mates that I haven't seen for a long time...
  9. I seriously need to join you guys down there next time you go... thinking of some DS action this weekend.
  10. Ja, it really is! I was meeting a guy that I used to go to school with for business. I was sitting at a Vida, doing some pre-meeting graft, when all of a sudden I get this finger stuck into my ribs and he says to me "gimme all your money" I recognised his voice, so I laughed, turned around and stood up to shake his hand. As I stood up, his eyes got bigger & bigger, and he had this sorta scared look on his face. Deer in the headlights stuff. He managed to utter "****me, you've grown!"
  11. Sort of, and it's a forest. It's like a transformer because in 10 to 20 years, if SANPARKS have their way, it'll all be fynbos as opposed to pine. A Tokai is home to the lesser-known bridge troll. Lurks in muddy waters or under bridges, ready to swipe at all things 29er.
  12. Oh! You mean Racetech... I haven't renewed my PPA membership yet. I'm just enjoying the rides at the moment, and I find it hard to justifyu travelling 100+ km to a race when I can ride 10km and be at the Arboretum at Tokai, and ride as long as I want to...
  13. Rule of thumb - top of saddle = level with top of hip bone Tip of saddle = 1 arm length (including outstretched hand) from handlebar (NOT stem) tweak as desired. Sitting up, you should JUST be able to see your toes when looking down at your feet, when feet are arranged @ 3 & 9.
  14. Do we add or subtract those numbers to / from each other, or are the last 210 just one big doodle?
  15. That would still be (okay, not draconian this time) archaic in its construct, granting the seller access to the Hub's member base (who are inherently cycling obsessed. At least, most of us, that is) on the proviso that he not advertise elsewhere. There should be no "sole agency" agreement, in my opinion. The users of the hub have access to all other forms of media when perusing saleable items. Why restrict the seller?
  16. I'm stil inclined to say that the guy need not have indicated his desire to buy in any other way than phoning Gordon. Alternatively, he might have been phoning and then dibsing, but been sidetracked after the phonecall. We all know how easily that can happen. As for the notification of sale of the item - yes. If Gordon even saw the PM notification or SMS in the first place... If he didn't, then you can't blame him for not telling the guy that it was sold already. But heck - we all react differently to various things. Someone even left a message on my phone the day that I had sold my roadbike, asking about it and expressing KEEN interest. I phoned him back, just to say it had just been sold. Common courtesy. My problem with this was that the OPer was unreservedly flaming the seller, because he lost out on a sale and somebody phoned the seller first, then didn't "dibs" it on the thread, whereas the OPer signalled intent on the thread (which we don't even know if the seller received) then SMS'd the seller (again, we don't know if the SMS was received, or when it was received) and didn't phone him until it was too late. My view - phone first, SMS 2nd, post on a thread 3rd. But yes - I would have told the guys posting on the thread that the item was sold.
  17. Wouldn't that be slightly draconian? Preventing someone from advertising on the Hub because he has advertised elsewhere? Surely the whole point of advertising is to reach the largest audience possible, given available means. If you limit peoples' available platforms due to draconian measures such as these, what happens to the free market system that we all so love and appreciate?
  18. Bwahahahaa!! That gave me a LARGE dose of the chuckles! Large enough to make said fat chick transform into a sea of waves...
