  1. Full carbon, by the looks of things. Also has a HUUUUUGE overhang on the toptube, and one of the ancillary pivots is off the hanging toptube as well?! Looks pretty cool from here...
  2. He's a little guy. Don't get the little guy angry. He can ruin your trail. Seriously though, Pain... pleasure building trails with you. And yes, he is a cool guy.
  3. And here I thought that there was nothing better than your Mak uuu Luuu ;) Give it, mate. Haven't got anything to lose. At least with the Joplin you'll have a better time of it on the way up, and can hastily drop that mother...
  4. depends where you are, but avg about 35 to 40 or so, I guess.
  5. Agreed. Thanks grb285! Anyway - has anybody else ridden the diversion yet?
  6. Fantastic news, mate. Just shout when the next building / maintenance session is going to happen. Will be there like a bear.
  7. Sorry, yeah - Epic Bike Shop, not Epic Cycles. They're a great bunch of guys, and I'll only take my bike to them to be serviced. Lance is a machine on the tech bench!
  8. Try Epic Cycles in Constantia. They build Niners quite often, and have quite a selection...
  9. yeah, it's difficult. I suffered from the same thing after I was hijacked. Was paranoid of all the cars passing behind me etc. But then you just sort of get used to it, and then in the end you come out being more observant and more prepared for the eventuality. It's a growing experience, my man... Still not cool.
  10. These ones, and the one that Patches had, are the ones I was talking about. I think Patches's one is better looking, but then the other one is also pretty cool. Would snap like a... snappy thing... when you had an off though...
  11. Yeah, I was looking at the sixer. Would look superb with a 160mm Lyrik on the front... mmmmmm! Santa, are you listening?
  12. What's the link to watch it? Need to see it tonight... Me stoopid. Me no look at previous post before posting stoopid question.
  13. Question time - I have those Holdfast sucker racks for my surfski, and while they hold for a while, they eventually come unstuck and have to rely on the secondary straps that fasten through the car doors in order to stay attached to the car. I don't want my bike to come off halfway through the day, and need to be assured that the suckers WILL NOT decompress and come unstuck. Also - Price?
  14. Jees! DV, what the hell are you doing with all those bikes!? I've been looking at the Cherrybomb on CRC. Looks superb. Might take that, later on.
  15. I think that's his old Yeti... Now with a Meerhout. Correct, patches?
  16. I would imagine he has replaced: crank fork tires wheels cassette (this can be particularly weighty, and some people overlook this) rear der (maybe) and so on... There is a lot of weight to be lost in those areas...
  17. Was the couple willing to be taken and given according to your wishes?
  18. It'll make a difference if you jump the thing - easier to lift and tuck as well as easier to chuck around. But then, at that point strength becomes an issue, and with anything on big jumps or dropoffs etc it's going to make a negative difference. With weight loss, you also sacrifice a bit of strength - unless you pay out your 4rse for the components...
  19. Firstly, it's a SEGMA, not a Sigma. Secondly - it's a WRITE up, not a wright up. 3rd - where are you based? I know of a couple of shops who have them in the CT region.
  20. You have summer tires!?!? Dude - I have one set. One for roots, rocks, sand, soil, gravel, clay, jumps and berms. Nothing else matters.
  21. nicely done, mate. Must've been hell to carry on going back for the camera though!
