  1. Really hope to be there, doing the training but must still enter…will enter before end of January. Have not done any triathlons in the last 2 years and have forgotten how hard it is to run, bike and swim in 1 week.

    Cricket......

How old is Amla?He is scoring as fast as anybody the last 2 years but I am not sure because I think he started late in he's Career with test cricket?
  3. I am on the Paleo diet for athletes by Joe Friel.Pretty much the same mostly high protein/fat and low carbs.I have not had carbs in any form other veggies and fruit for 2 weeks now.I do however drink my normal sportsdrink on the bike and after as prescribed by J Friels book. Feeling very good on the bike at the moment...can ride up to 4hours hard tempo on 1 bottle carbs and some nuts. Have also started doing intervals and feel strong at the moment but it is early still. Will start to race seriously in about 2 weeks so will let you know.I do mtb racing and road competitively in die subvets lic bunch here in Gauteng. At the moment I am leaner than I have ever been this time of the year.Doing a 200km ride tomorrow so will see how that feels,Had Some Fish and sweet patato for dinner. Will keep you guys posted on the form and racing results.
  4. Jonathan Vaughters seems to think that is was expected......so maybe there is a ethical issue somewhere....but I would love to know what that is if they decided to take Saxo with the cloud hanging over Riis at the moment.
  5. Yes,I don't get this at all....where does the points come in?Katusha has got way more points than half those teams that got a Lic. From what I know they have a very big budget also and surely they don't have ethical problems really....not more than Saxo thats for sure... They extended Euskaltel Euskadi's Lic for 3 years and they have to sell their busses to pay salaries???? I don't think Katusha will have any problems with wild cards for all 3 of the grand tours but still I don't get the system.
  6. Riaan, you on strava??you sound like the guy to follow.. If not get on there.....:-)
  7. Froome seems confidant that he will be leader at the tour. My Opinion is that at the TDF the Diesel might still win over the turbo's but only because of the SKY train and the type of climbs there that make riding at tempo easier for a team like SKY. At the Giro on those steeper climbs I think they will have a problem , its harder to draft on those climbs at high speed and still save energy. I don't really care what tour Froome ride as leader because I think all of them will be good for him......he just needs to win one next year
  8. Thanks man.....greatest sport on earth!!Nothing comes close...
  9. Saxo protour wins....6,europcar ...9 , Argos...27 wins!!
  10. Why is Argos even fighting for a spot??Of all the teams on the protour they had the 6th most wins this season....same number as Lotto and only movistar, quickstep , L-cannondale and Sky had more. They should have been the first choice if it is a budget issue that made them part of the wildcard draw?

I think we are going to show up big time for the last test...Steyn and Amla to show the Ausies why they are the best in he world at the moment! My 2 cents on Kallis....I think they should start letting him just bat.We can get 2 more good years from him that way and any team in the world would pick him as a specialist no 4. I know it is about more than the stats but he has a very real chance to go past Ponting on the runs list and he needs 6 more hundreds to go past Tendulkar on the most hundreds. If you look at the top 3 runs scorers of all time he will be second then on the list with the highest avg of the 3 and the most hundreds!! F&$k anybody that then don't want to pick him in their top 5 batsmen of all time... In Fact I recon if you have not scored at least 10000 runs you should not be on any list..it is easy for a talented guy to have a good 3 years and avg 60 plus but try and score runs for over 10 years or more like Kallis,Ponting and Tendulkar.....that is what makes a great!!

    2012 94.7

Anybody knows what the fastest time on a mtb...(not with slicks) is for the 94.7?? Would think that close to 2.40 or maybe 2.35 would be possible?

    2012 94.7

With the right start group and bunch riding techniques....sub 3 without to much effort.

No problem,From what I hear the Lab brother did a seriously impressive ride yesterday, maybe one of the best in the age groups for many years.... Good to see him on the road again because he has been doing Mtb only lately..

    2012 94.7

I agree but only on really steep hills will the gearing play its part, the rest is just him being stronger than the guys he is riding with...and they are only there with him because of drafting on flats and downhills and resistance. Did the mtb thing yesterday and found the same thing, started in E and did not ride in any bunches so the first half mostly got passed by big bunches...the second half i started going past these bunches on the hills without even trying really. You have to ride with riders that are just as strong as you then they will hurt you bigtime on the hills.

    2012 94.7

Hehe,no not really he is just stronger than the guys in the area where he rode....and that you see on the hills. He will just struggle to ride away from them because of the downhills and flat sections and the big bunches.

    2012 94.7

Its simple, the weaker riders will pass you on the flats and downhills and you will then catch up again on the hills where they have no drafting effect.Or if they ride with you in a bunch it only mean that they use less energy to stay with you on the flats and downhills because of drafting but on the hills they have to do the work on their own.that and less resistance for them on the flats make them look strong on the easy sections. Ride with bunches that are a lot stronger than you and you will start to struggle on the hills.

VC belongs to Johan Lab....could also call him the beast!Broke away almost right from the start and stayed away on his own to the Finish and in the process beating most of the VA and VB times.Could not be more happy for him.....a great ride by a great guy!!

    Cricket......

Kallis 84 of 135 balls....aggressive batting by him! Shows you what he can do when he knows there are guys like Amla and AB in the team!
  21. Thanks man,was worried about the platform versus no platform "feel"
  22. Just out of interest sake, if he was tested in Aug why was the Organisers of the Mtn series and the Pioneer not told of this in time for them to maybe exclude him from the race. The Crater Cruise and the Pioneer had big prize money and now it becomes the problem of the Organizers. What about the riders that came second, 3rd and 4th on the day? They were robbed of the opportunity to race and win the stages and be on the podium. All this while David and CSA knew about the positive??
  23. Do they use the same cleats?Looks like it should be?
  24. Not sure if it has been mentioned but I think the time bomb hunter refered to is David being suspended from Racing back when he was with US postal for a abnormal high heamocrit level....above 50 ,only suspended not band because there was no test for epo back then.
  25. Need some advise, I have been riding with Candy's for more than a year now but my current pedals are a bit banged up so I need new ones. Have been wondering about the difference between candy and eggbeaters? Would love to try eggbeaters?
