  1. Ok that looks serious!!Might have to fit the granny!
  2. Thanks man...any idea of the time it would take to do both? How steep is Sani? more than 15%?How would it compare to the mamba in sabie? I just want to make sure I have the right gearing, because i struggled a bit with my 2 by 9 going up Mamba...but only just...one more gear would have been perfect. Or should I fit the granny.
  3. Anybody have a profile of the climb?
  4. Nee ou die bakkie sal te veel sukkel daar!!
  5. Ok thanks...will have to go and get it sorted out then. What's the riding like on the Lesotho side?
  6. Need some info on this climb please? We are staying in Underberg for a week at the end of January and I want to take the Mtb with to train there.. Would love to do the Sani Pass but I see you might need a Passport to do the whole pass? How far would I be able to go without a passport? My passport expired and don't want to go and get it renewed if it is not necessary?? How is the riding in that area? I would be riding on my own so mostly main roads?

    Cricket......

100%, on batting alone it will take some time to replace him! One of only 4 players in the history of the game that has scored more than 12000 test runs and he has the hightest avg of those 4!! Like you said...they don't just grow on trees!! I don't watch domestic cricket that much...any young up and coming batsman out there that could fill the gap he will leave?
  8. Amazing Amazing Amazing!!!!!!!!! Perfect 4 days of Mtb riding in the mountains of Sabie....love this race and will be back for many more!! Nice Pics Christie and MtbBarbie!!Only problem is i have to look at them while sitting in front of my pc at work.
  9. Thanks man, will get them from CWC they should be here in time!!They look great... Just to confirm, these are the right ones? Schwalbe Racing Ralph Snake TL Ready Fold TYRES MTB Wheels Description: Schwalbe Racing Ralph Evo 29 Snake Skin - Really high-volume fast rolling XC race tire that loves to lean over in the corners w/ the added protection of their Snakeskin sidewall The low-profile tread makes it an extremely fast rolling tire and the U-Blocks provide excellent cornering traction. Schwalbe designed what they call sharkstooth U-Blocks into the tread. The are U-Blocks are angled 20 degrees toward the outside of the tire and make it grip much more aggressively. We like to run the Racing Ralph when we are looking for a tire with the low rolling resistance of a Crossmark or Small Block8 and cornering traction that rivals the Ignitor. The 2.4 version is also a great tire for Hardtails/Singlespeeds. The extra volume provides some nice cushion while offering excellent rolling resistance and very little weight penalty. •Excellent multi-condition performance •29 x 2.25 (640grms)
  10. Thanks,I see there is also a Racing Ralph HT? Also i see thye have 2.10 and 2.25?but only the snakeskin in 2.25?what is the difference?would the 2.10 not be a faster tyre?
  11. Thanks will have a look at the racing ralphs, any idea who stocks them in pta?
  12. The "clogging" up at the back is what worries me with sb8...so would race kings be better? Have hear about race kings at the back and mountain kings in the front. What about race kings for front and back? Someone also told me about captain control for the front?
  13. Thanks, I do ride tubeless but I am a "light" rider so have always used "normal" tyres and not ust's. I am mostly a road so not very experienced as to what are the best options. I did do a race a couple of months ago that I had to push very hard because I was away on my own in front. I ended up losing the front of the bike on a couple of occasions on the loose stuff so I do think are not that good for grip. Was just not sure how they will handle the mud, was worried because they don't really have any space between the knobs... So what should I get? Lightish and fast but with a bit better grip...any suggestions?
  14. Need some help.. I currently ride a 29er with kenda small block eight tyres. Have been racing with them for a couple of months and love them. Going to do Sabie experience next week so I just want to know if these tyres will be ok for wet conditions. I don't want to put on tyres specifically for the possibility that it might be wet and muddy so basically just want to know if these tyres will be ok?
  15. I will be there, love riding in Sabie and I don't mind a bit of rain. Just not 4 days of rain and mud please!! Just a question to you guys? I don't really know how well my tires will deal with the rain and wet conditions. I am not looking for the best out there, just will it be impossible to ride with them? I ride a 29er and have the Kenda small blocks eight on. They are still new so don't want to go and buy new tires if they will be fine?
  16. You serious about the hippo ? Did you phone them? If so it's very bad because that the best swimming places in Gauteng
  17. If you get the digital version from Zinio it will cost you R72 for 9 issues!! Not sure if this is the mag you are talking about ?”Bike” have a look at the link http://za.zinio.com/browse/category/index.jsp?prnt=cat1960028&navAction=jump&navCount=0&categoryId=cat1960161
  18. Zinio all the way!!!!!!! Subscribed to pro cycling for the same price as the local ride mag and you get the mag before it hits the shelves!! Got the dec issue almost 2 weeks back already, why go and buy a mag.....open up your Laptop/ipad and just subscribe, or buy one issue and read it there and then. Or buy any of the previous issues that you missed.

    Pro Transfers

    Yes any news on JL?
  22. Just don't run the trail run if possible to hard? biggest damage would come from running to close to your race pace effort. But if you want to take it serious I would say spend lots of time in the pool and doing light gear riding...I find that swimming actually helps my legs recover. Supplements will only really make a difference during the race and maybe the first 2 days after...the rest is getting rid of the fatigue. 2 day Trail run of that distance must be hard!!But if you are lucky you might even be stronger at Challenge series because of that effort.. Enjoy!!I would love to do a trail run like that!!
  23. Hehe,I have very unique colorful running shoes and that did not stop some other dude from taking them for a run at my last duathlon!!Imagine coming in from a good bike ready to go and no shoes...had to wait at the finish for the guy to inform him he had the wrong shoes on!!
  24. Any idea how Armstrong did in the swim? From what I could pick up on twitter he got out of the water before Conrad?
  25. Thanks will give the kicking thing a try..I don't normaly have a problem with fast starts in both road and mtb races with very little warmup and I have been struggling with most rides after my swim. For example my 3rd 10km lap was almost 4minutes faster than the first 10km..and my avg hrt was 10 beats lower on that 3rd lap compared to the first. I have been thinking that maybe I am a bit swim "unfit" so the effort is too big and it takes a while to recover but that does not really explain the jelly legs.
