We meet at Thaba to start riding at 4am..it may have to be a little earlier than that ..mabe 3;30am.. getting to either Barry's point or Lawrence, where the sunrise will be the best....me thinks Lawrence...then we can wend our way down to a breakfast at the "new shop"...There will be no charge for the entrance fees it will simply be a bunch of bikers enjoying the BUSH. 10. Hi Guys...been a bit low key as time is a bit in short supply, no extensions here.. The Olympic Footwear 24 hour is a few hours away. The trails are absolutely awesome. I was doing some night laps on Tuesday and it just makes me realize how blessed we are to have such freedom and trails that hold your attention. My crew lead by Dave have really done an awesome job with the camp sites. As a "style" we have each and every campsite on the race line. There will be enough space for all and we have increased the stand sizes. As we did last year, all camp sites are free and you are welcome to pitch tents etc as from Friday.Registration will be from 12 noon Friday. On- Line ( entry time) are closed but you are welcome to do line entries at registration or email.. bole@icon.co.za. The Cycle Hub will be open for last minute assistance but our mechanic will leave at a bout 4.pm on Saturday but we can make repairs with our roving mechanic on site....which we are working on. The spinning class has been cancelled through lack of interest....a lot of enthusiasm but no action.... If...no when it rains.. I found the trails are slippery as can be expected but we have designed the trail away from that black mud...we don't want you to break your bikes...a bike wash is available as a self service (free) or you can go to our car wash and there it will be R20 this is to cover costs and a donation to the needy. The girl/boy gifts you donate will be taken to the Children of Barra Burn Unit..on the 9th December through our selected charity..Ride 2 Raise. Torinos Italian restaurant will be doing a " Ring and Bring" service for those of you on a Pizza or Pasta diet..Illy Coffee... Madam Marmalaide and Ceasar's Caterers on site and RIDERS FREE COFFEE STAND...with the awesome sponsorship from 32GI of a RIDERS FREE HYDRATION STAND..manned by MR CHEERFUL..Derrek Reineke. 13. The trails are awesome and the rain seems to make them better....looking good for 24th....the 24 hour spinning class will take place at the same time and same venue....so no chatter from those who don't enjoy mountain biking..come join in anyway and help us raise funds for CANSA..only 9 bikes available...one bike already taken for the full time...R100 per hour..
  14. Hi guys, patience...thanks for all your attitudes. I am slowly but surely getting there. We made a new end section that runs east of the jeep track..it really makes you feel like going back and doing it again. I have temp. closed Mzuzu because I need to make some changes that will make it flow..sorry but I know there are guys who will be quiet happy. Therefore..first blue section starting at "PRINCE" is a 6km loop and you will include...Prince..Kudu..Amon..Lawrence and returning to the green trail..don't go back into prince unless you are wanting to repeat it ( I do because I enjoy this section for my training) following the green for about 100m after the Prince entrance....you now turn "RIGHT" into "SAMUEL" This is a new experience but as you are about to go down "heartbreak Hill" you turn right for the long decent and returning to the car park where you will go into "IMPALA" then onto the "hill..heartbreak hill" going straight at the top into the new entrance to " ABRAHAM" when you exit here you will turn left up the short hill and back onto the green trails... from here we will be editing again next week..so watch this space.... Remember..Tuesday night rides at 6pm and Saturday morning 6pm..group ride of about 3 hours.
  15. Tonight..we hope the rain holds off... should be a blast ....AGAIN. 6pm sharp
  16. Probably at the start of the trails at the Ablution block
  17. NOT really... just feel sorry for them guys who can't afford the gears.
  18. As the momentum is not yet flowing..we will do night rides on Tuesdays at 6pm. There will be a trail run on Thursday nights....
  19. Single Speed ride for FREE. We will give the first 20 single speed riders a free entry. Apply direct and not through ENTRYTIME.COM go to bole@icon.co.za and we will see the first 20 riders get free entry.
  20. Thanks Bones...a sponsor gets his name in the headlines... but it is at "The Vlei"
  21. Sure..no problem
  22. Well, to my knowledge some guys need the pink ticket, so we have solved the problem.. bring them with.. and pink is CANSA symbol.... a worthy cause in any mans books!
  23. GLAD to see you see yourself as part of the "GOOD COMPANY" or....is it the ILLY. Anyway, I look forward to having you along..24 hour??? the list is growing and all single speed will get a free entry....hows that????
  24. Breaking news is that Matrix is sponsoring 10 spinning bikes for the duration of the Olympic Footwear 24 hour event on the 24th November. While we are riding the 8km trail why not get your better half to do a spinning class at the same time. There are two companies who have already booked two bikes for their customers and friends. The cost will be R100 per hour and the proceeds will go to CANSA....now isn't that a reason to get your pink.. can't beat them then join them!!
  25. as an organizer I'd love to leave out timing...as a competitor I love hearing my time...but the best "time" is that spent on your bike especially when you are with good company and a cup of ILLY waiting for you at the finish
