So, Sunday morning we are having a muffin and coffee ride, you know where and they may wear the lions tops as the "champs"

After 94,7 we can organise some early morning riding. I am just helping my best friend (wife) get ready for her 6th consecutive tandem ride...she also wants to tlk about 10 in a row....

We have just seen two baby Blesbuck, as well as a newly born Black Wildebees....the Coffee and muffin ride will be lead out by some of our regulars so we will have all catagory riders to assist

Tuesday night is at Thaba... 6pm. We will leave a radio at security and if you are late you can contact us( if we can make coms over the mountain)You can just head up and we can all join up. The buck aren't so cross... and hey, you may end up with a new bike......so just ride your skorra skorra and win BIG. Thursday nights are at Rietvlei and mostly playing on the 24 hour routes... the guys are serious about their night rides..looking forward to seeing you.

Hello EWI, with an inner leg measurement like this you would be a 57,8 road bike. I would look at putting you onto a large bike of 19" (in some brands) but mostly a 20"on the majority of brands. If the bike is too small for you, you are may experiance lower back ache,as it is the cockpit of the bike that will make you sit too scrunched up.The importance of correct size can never be over emphasized and many will debate the fact that a smaller bike is better for mountain biking.. my personal experiance was that a "small" agrivated a bad back and when I went to the " medium" I had no further trouble. My inner leg is an 81cm.... road bike size 53,8 so I ride a 54 road bike.Hope this is of help to you.

Hi Guys, we do have rental bikes at The Vlei Cycle Park, they are Meridas but the entry level bikes as they take a lot of abuse... the cost is R150 and this includes your entry fee and helmet. We hire them out from 8 till 5 on week days and 8 till ONE on Saturdays and Sundays. We do have demo bikes available by appointment only as they are NOT part of our regular fleet.

ps. we are at 101 Klipriver Drive, Mulbarton. Just across the road from Panorama shopping centre.

Any takers for a group ride around the FULL Thaba Trails. This includes yellow, green and blue..this just to celebrate the BOK win tomorrow. The ride should take about 2 hours. All welcome.

Mine will be here with those airfreighted in... pity it will be late for the Vlei 24hour but mabe...just mabe in time for the Sabie Experiance... please Father Christmas don't be late.... rather two weeks early than 2 minutes late...It is beeeutiful, especially the green one...much preferred over the ONE.

Well done Richard!!! You were spot on with the course ( for me anyway) right distance,right mix and mostly right vibe. Pitty about the wedding but " if the music is too loud you are too old" Your staff/ helpers were just great "Thank You " nice to get an encouraging word each lap. Hope these guys will all be coming to the Vlei 24 hour.We look forward having events for people who absolutely appreciate what they get.... roll on 2012 and a bigger better 12hour.

Thanks Ben, just realised that today as well. Sorry but we will do it asap. This Sunday is the Scott launch and the race route will be marked especially for the day so peeps can test on all terrain. Will be very interesting

Wow, I did the race route with a Garmin last night...5,53 km accent 140m decent 145m cant tell you how much fun it was.I am looking for some guys to come ride the race route on the 8th. I think a three lapper will be a good starting point. It's NOT an easy trail so whoever come through will DEFINATELY be tested. No entry fees, no fuss... just come along and enjoy. It's encouraging to read your comments. Scott bikes are doing a demo day organized by Tread magazine on Sunday... will be interesting to see if they handle well on the new tech areas. We have completed the proposed race route of about 5,5km. I need some of you to ride this and give me feedback. I will refrain from giving my comments (cos they won't count)I don't see these race routes being for the beginner / fun rider. rather at a higher skills level... want to have a casual "come as you are " race on the 8th... just a bit of fun and feed back... who will be there... Ben, you will have to use the gears.... Grant Usher showed me a clean pair of heels as he dissapeared over the top of " NO NAME HILL"....animal...8.30am till 10am on the 8th.

It's Tuesday and just a reminder of the night ride at Thaba... we are moving Thursdays back to The Vlei.... jus because it is a nice venue as well. We look forward to you all again tonight..leaving at 6pm.

Marc, that looks great. How much distance did you get in. I see you didn't do the green section at the fire station not "Dave" I had an awesome ride with Andre, Jade and Grant. It is really humbling when one thinks you are fit and a guy just anialates you......on a singlr speed.

Thanks guys for the numbers testing the new trails. I am extremely encouraged by your comments. You will notice the identification names for the Blue and Green sections. My team of trail builders are excited with the simple fact that we have nemed these sections after them. The Blue sections which are for experienced riders onlt please are Richard 1,5km ...Dave 1,2km and Prince 1,4km.... teh Green sections are Abraham 800m...Yafta 1,3km and Samuel 1km. Please be careful at this stage as we are desperatly praying for rain. The trails are becoming very testing due to the sand just becoming like baby powder...not so clean but so slippery. Our night rides are slow in taking off. We ride at Thaba on Tuesday nights at 6pm and from this week we are moving back to The Vlei for Thursday nights.. all are welcome. We do about a two hour ride at the pace of the group.
