  1. You should be able to get a lithium for cheaper..bought mine for R7,500 a few months ago.
  2. Yeah it'll work well. Before solar I also used one of those 1.2Kva Inverters but with a 105ah lithium battery. Looking for R7,000 for it if you're keen - powered 2 laptops, 2 screens, 1 tv, fibre and 3 lamps without ever dropping to below 60% battery.
  3. Well-freakin-done You mentioned last time that you want to disconnect from eskom supply - what did that process and costs entail?
  4. It's often the case that the store staff are low paid workers who don't really give a toss about the brand. So when social media is involved it's escalated higher or, in this case, the owner sees it. But I agree with your sentiment - frustrating that things have to be brought on social platforms to get the right people involved.
  5. Iโ€™ll ask around about the guy who stole the bike. Maybe we can create a local bike theft fund to get a private investigator involved? Iโ€™m 95% sure itโ€™s the same 4 people stealing bikes for the same syndicate.
  6. Same story. Steal a bike in town and ride it to Kayamandi via Bird street. Must be a massive syndicate at this stage as they steal a lot of high value bikes.
  7. Would be one hell of an investment if you can sell that for R30k ๐Ÿ˜„
  8. Thanks for this ๐Ÿ‘ Adjusted our settings close to what you have. We have a large battery with plenty of PV so not going to charge the battery from the grid at this stage.
  9. Can you please share photos of your inverter settings - interested to know how you set it up to allow the above.
  10. I'm selling my 720W mecer inverter and lithium iron battery if you want to power more than just the router. We powered lamps, laptops and screens, router and TV from it with zero issues.
  11. Interesting - with that big battery I take it your idea is to disconnect from Eskom if it's not too expensive?
  12. You say theyโ€™re legit and did a good job? Got a quote from them and it was around 15% cheaper than 2 other quotes I requested..
  13. Anyone on here keen to upgrade and sell me their 5KW hybrid inverter and battery?
  14. Sit bone width is just 1 part of getting to a place of comfort. If you're 155mm and sit on a brick then it's still going to hurt. I'm super happy with my Ergon SMC saddle. https://www.ergonbike.com/en/product-details.html?anr=44030040&s=smcmtb&a=saettel
  15. Only routers? How many? Sounds like youโ€™ll be fine with those router battery backups from takealot that sells for +-R1,000 each. They power your fibre ONT box and a router for a few hours.
  16. Golden Arrow most likely pay the lowest wages and try squeeze every minute of time out of their drivers - nailing them over weekly performance reports etc. Rather go after Golden Arrow than their drivers.

Good points - went through a view cameras the past month to test. What I found: - Don't skimp on megapixels (no use in having cameras if you cannot identify the intruder). - Get something with great human detection (EZVIZ is crap and the Reolink I tested was great) - You don't want a bunch of false alarms. I went with the IP camera route - excluding an NVR (so memory is on each camera). I might change this over time so that I have more control over the storage.

Good deals on Reolink at the moment - https://reolink.com/refurbished-products/ Tested a 5MP reolink and it's leaps better than your normal 2MP. 8MP is probably what you should be aiming for but they're expensive.
  19. This is what I use: https://www.seasucker.com/ Small plastic frame with suction cups that I leave in the boot. Super handy. Can't believe they aren't more prevalent.
  20. Can only imagine how much it's costing Wahoo to replace these instead of forking out a bit more for proper bearings. Penny wise pound foolish.
  21. Yeah - R20 per 100km is nothing in biking expense terms.
  22. eBucks feels like a breeze to understand compared to Vitality. With eBucks you have to: - Have a credit and fusion account. - Use your virtual bank cards (fusion or credit) for all your expenses (especially debit orders). - On the app, open the 'track my rewards', 'nav>money' pages each month. - Don't withdraw cash from an ATM. Those things should put you on tier 5 each month. I get around R700 a month back from shopping at Checkers, Engen and then Clicks (in that order).
  23. I'm interested to know what your top 3 revenue streams are for earning D-Miles? And then, on what status are you? (trying to understand how to best make use of the system to earn max rewards for the least amount of effort).
  24. For those wondering how to activate Vitality Endurance Athete Status: Activate it here. Few the points (now max of 600 per excercise) here.
  25. Totally with you. I still suffer from some FOMO so I do an event every now and again. But we are so spoiled for choice it makes it difficult to justify a 3-day W2W weekend. Ernie Els and Spier also now are part of the Winelands trails.
