  1. Piet - "Gawie jys 'n suinige bliksem." Gawie - "Piet..chill. Dis net R350 wat jy en Willem moet split, jeez." Something to that extent?

Let's say you want to ride from Stellenbosch to Kylemore via Botmaskop. I don't know the figures and am too lazy to check but that is one hell of a climbing session. Doing it with a 46T at the back and 32T up front will take legs/low-weight/balls or a combination of the above. 1.) If that leg is only part of a longer ride that lasts 70km then you're in deep crap. If it's part of something like this year's epic then you better brace yourself. 2.) If you're trying to stick to a certain heart rate zone, then forget it. So for those 2 reasons or unless there's a 1 year shortage of larger cassette's, I'll rather leave my ego out of it and get a larger granny gear.
  4. Trick question. We all know that's a Hilux.
  5. My experience: (3) Duct tape doesn't last with sealant and removing and installing tires every now and again. (2) Gorilla is 2nd best, lasts a lot longer than duct tape but I find my rim widths rarely gel well with the narrower roll - and I'm not going to cut the wider one. (1) Stans tape when well installed will last a long time and takes a beating ito removing and installing tires. So what Diesel said made sense - go for a Polyurethane tape. Then the biggest concern is the quality of adhesive that they use.
  6. Sommer gratis reggemaak.
  7. I actually opened this thread thinking the Karoo Hammerhead 2 is a bike race.
  8. Not this again 🤨
  9. Some heroes don’t wear capes.
  10. From his lense, he really thought it was brand new. Dude should get his quality meter dialed in.
  11. Only way I can think something like this would work is to only do bike services and then specialising in it, having nice tech such as an online booking website and a service to pick up and deliver bikes. And you cater this to Pearl Valley type of customers.
  12. So who's making the 50% when we buy locally?
  13. I’ve had Deore, SLX, XT and currently on XTR (previous model). I can’t find a noticable difference in how they perform over the longer term - the feel might be different but all of them make me stop equally well. They just last.
  14. Sticking a piece of hard and thin plastic (like a coffee scoop’s backend) then spraying the inside (between handlebar and grip) with something like windowlene always helps me get mine off.
  15. He was riding in Bird street close to the Build It (just in front of the bridge). He was likely riding in bird street from the incident so you can check the cameras on that road. Just weird that you said it happened on the 1st but I saw the bike on the 2nd. Exact same bike.
  16. But @martinl please don’t leave a bike with a cheap lock again on the back of a vehicle.
  17. Saw a young black guy ride this bike (white one) into Kayamandi on Monday around 13:00. He was with a few friends. Didn’t want to get involved as it was only me and my wife in the car and I had nothing to protect us on me. Told my wife that’s most likely a stolen bike.
  18. Can't beat the value of a 2nd hand Garmin Edge 130. Period. Eek - didn't read. Watch, I'd probably go for a 2nd hand Garmin 935. Same spec but cheaper than a Fenix 5. Can expand later into swimming if you want to. You should get one at way less than R5k.
  19. Funny how people like Cameron (that gun guy) say that the Western Cape is so well run. Yet, over the past 15 years it has in many many ways gone backwards. The DA is just the best of the worst.
  20. Paid out for a replacement. Rim, spokes, nipples and labour. So complete rebuild of the wheel.
  21. Submitted the claim via the app with the story of what happened. Was contacted to let me know that they got the claim and that RAW will contact me. They contacted me and asked what happened etc. RAW then wanted photos of the wheel. Claim was approved after I sent them a quote from the manufacturer to repair the wheel.
  22. Wow. Literally had the opposite experience.
  23. Same experience with me. Claimed for a cracked carbon wheel. Claims process was an absolute breeze and very pleasant with Riders@work as the assessors. Highly recommend Naked Insurance.
  24. I can offer R10 for your 2020 Santa Cruz. let me know.
