  1. The Tweets come in Orange... http://www.spank-ind.com/upload/20110610_003129685739.jpg
  2. Every time I hear the term 'lagers' I think of Men Behaving Badly http://www.comedyquotes.tv/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/menbehavingbadly02.jpg
  3. Champery... It's not the world cup track that is featured but gives a decent idea of the gradient. http://www.pinkbike.com/video/344088/
  4. Sounds good. Consider this event firmly penciled into the diary.
  5. I don't have/own any 29r wheels to practice on. So my plan is just to make it work on the day. Edit: Could we do Sunday Feb 2? I try to get out on the dirt bike on Saturdays... But if the 1st suites everyone else then lets do that.
  6. Monday afternoon (20 Jan). Fratellies parking lot at 16h30. We head up to Emma/Albert's and back (you may have to wait for me on uphills as I'll only be on a 26" play bike, it's been declared just how slow we are). Get back to the parking lot. Bust that bead, then I guess you'll have to do at least a rotation or 2 on it flat. I fix busted bead with only bits out of my CamelBak (handpump, water, possibly remove the valve core...) We eat pizza & enjoy a beer or two. Done by 20h00'ish.
  7. Agreed. (IF it works). We just need a time and place for this to happen. I'm not sure where you guys are based in JHB, but what about Fratellies parking lot? We could do a ride, then the experiment, then pizza n beer? Also, there is an Engen just up the road if it does fail.
  8. I guess that is within the rules.
  9. If it has to be a weekend then the 1st I can do is 1/2 Feb.
  10. Okay, time n place. Lets get this done! This is waht will either be making or breaking my ego... EDIT: the pic was all weird... http://www.cyclesupreme.com/image/cache/data/Pump/42197-3-500x500.jpg Preferance would be for Monday or Tuesday as I need to race prep my bike for CT on Wednesday evening. So, I'm not available Wed/Thursday/Friday next week (heading to CT to roll down hills there)
  11. Agree with this. No new sealant! Meant to be a trail side fix (but with beer!) Edit: I must just remember to fill my CamelBak with dish washing liquid
  12. Fook, okay hopefully I can pull a rabbit out of the hat with this one.
  13. I reckon as long as the combo had been tubeless previously (so a TR rim & TR tyre, with a decent conversion), it should be achievable (i hope ) I have managed with a hand pump on the trail before with a clown wheel no less.
  14. Cool lets do it. So the tyre has to have been fitted to the rim and ridden for a wee bit. Then we break the bead entirely (both sides), then I get to work with a hand pump a reseat the the mofo (no bombs as this'll ruin your sealant )! Sounds like a challenge. How about next week sometime?
  15. It can be done fairly easily. I remove the wheel from the bike so that there is no weight on the tyre. Try to get the trye back to it's original profile (some of the sealants cause the side walls of the tyre to stick), so make sure you get everything unstuck 1st. Then if you have mates around gently push on the tyre (at various points around the rim) so the the bead starts to press against the well in the rim and pump! If necessary put some water on the bead to help lube things up but this is not always necessary. I've had success like this before so it definitely is possible but it requires some prep & patience to make it happen. Otherwise just put a tube in there and deal with the mess at home.
  16. Haven't ridden either of the tracks but I think it's G-Spot and the Paarl DH track. And since the Hub has become such a pissing contest of late, I beat you both to it https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/126507-enduro-dh-vids-20/page__st__80
  17. A great event indeed Thanks to all who made it happen and big ups to KZN MTB for getting the Enduro race format into the provincial format so quickly. While the tracks weren't necessarily super technical, they definitely served their purpose with trying to get people onto the idea and kept everyone thinking. The timing (for the first time) was also very good so, which was brilliant. Finally, it should be noted that we let a foreigner on a full on DH bike finish 2nd overall!! We should all be very ashamed of ourselves
  18. Joh! I bet when he bins it (properly) there are going to be a heap of people having a go at his parents.
  19. I thought it was called "The Virgin Inactive" Line?
  20. http://www.pinkbike.com/video/345609/
  21. The 2nd DHI National (and XCO obviously) is meant to be taking place in Lesotho (19 - 20 April). I'm interested to see what the track will be like.
  22. I haven't ridden either but, I'd probably go for the Boot'r too. I have no real reason why, but it just looks like a more robust/simpler bike to me. Perhaps Nige can offer some advice as I think he has spent a decent amount of time on both rigs.
  23. He is probably talking about the old Fury (I assume), which is an entirely different beast.
  24. Another trail option if you happen to be passing by Kokstad... "There is a particular magic triangle that exists in South Africa, created by tar roads that join the South Coast, the Wild Coast and the Southern Berg. Somewhere in the middle of this green and fertile triangle, we find the farming town of Kokstad. Most South Africans know Kokstad because it’s a convenient pit stop when driving long distances..." Full details in the FullSus article I have yet to ride here but a couple mates have and I've heard good things. Anyone else been there?
  25. Found some recent articles regarding the KK trails online... Gives some good info (& psyche) for those considering a visit. Both are written by Jacques Marais so there is some overlap. FullSus Do it now! If you only can do a quick outing, the 15km route really packs in some awesome trail!
