  2. I wasn't at the event so I can't give any actual feedback, but from what I've read on FB, it looks to have gone well. Anyone have any 1st hand info? 3. It was a brilliant event that ran pretty smoothly for a first time event. Trails - 8 stars Timing - 5 stars (I think the voice check via 2-way radio could be subjective) Taping - 8 stars (it was sparse in places but it's an enduro) Management - 6 stars (need a bit more info in places like where riders briefing will be ) Overall - 7 stars All of the above is merely personal opinion and constructive criticism. It was a flippen tough day out on the bike, but a heap of fun, although I had my fair share of mechanicals, but such is life. Will definitely be back. I'll try to put a GoPro edit up in the next day or two... Edit to add: Results can be found here
  4. Like this, but my GPS sits in this position... My plan is to stitch the fluffy portion of the velcro to the left shoulder strap of my of my Camelbak. I just have to learn how to sew now.
  5. This is a track where a brake failure (like Gwin's or CG's) could get very, very scary. Is it going to be aired live on RedBull TV? What time?
  6. Thanks a lot Eldron. I must have missed them or they have come back in stock recently. Thanks for the offer, but I'll have an order going in soon, so I'll get them then.
  7. Sorry for the hi-jack Eldron, but I'm also looking for a set of adaptors, but ones that look like this... http://www.parktool.com/uploads/thumbnails/uploads/products/1bb5878d544b991f45ca72fa9a1d8a7c9fe23675_430x390.jpg Anybody have a set & willing to sell?
  8. Greg's footage from yesterdays practice. Looks mental!!! http://youtu.be/dpCm-XJlgp0
  9. SEASON 2 Episode #1 Fort Bill Episode #2 Val di sole - The electro beer drinking contest is brilliant. Not sure how to embed RB vids.

  11. Hey Guys & Gals, The track will be taped 1st thing Sunday morning. Food and drink stands will be located at the base of the track so riders and spectators can keep fueled up. Ryan Frerich's has organised for Rockstar energy drinks to be there on the day to keep the riders energy up between runs. The classes will be as follows: Sports Class - (1st timers and trail bikes) Open Class - (Anyone who has been riding for +1 year) Hardtail class - (self explanatory, but will depend on numbers) National Race class - (for the serious fellows who like to roll bicycles down hills) *EDIT - No licence required for this event in any category. Date Sunday 28 July 2013 Practice 09h30 - 11h30 Race from 12h00 Entrance R150 (on the day only i.e. no on-line entry) The hope is to have at least 30 riders turn up on the day...

  13. Good to hear. I nearly offed myself on that double below the lift. You know it was a close one when you hear people on the lift going "Ooooooooowe" But the steep switchbacks leading back to the base were awesome.
  14. Ja Morgins is great. The black trails there will definitely make you consider just how good you are. The trails definitely feel a bit more out there for some reason. Perhaps I was just having an off day when we visited... I'll have to go back & make sure
  15. One of the great mysteries of the PDS is why do they have a Red Indian theme?
  16. Portes du Soleil = PDS http://en.portesdusoleil.com/ DAMN YOU PATCHES!!
  17. A repost I know, but it seems appropriate to move it here. Peaty's helmet cam footage from practice at a race held on the same track a couple weeks back. Looks like Sunday will be a touch wetter. http://www.pinkbike.com/v/321855/l/

  20. This track looks flippen mental! They say the only other track steeper in Champery, but this looks way rougher. Should be an awesome race.
  21. The difference is obvious! (26' vs 650b) Sell what you have and apply for a loan, it WILL make you faster. http://ep1.pinkbike.org/p5pb9880228/p5pb9880228.jpg
  22. If your wheels are big enough you don't need to bunnyhop over anything. Not sure what all the fuss is about.
  23. The AM45's are great shoes. I do all my clipped riding in a set, as do most of the other DH boys n gals so they are certainly robust
  24. Not really Grebel. Best to have two sets of shoes. Using shoes with a cleat on flat pedals will not feel totally secure as the cleat will make contact with the pedal body. I do know that guys have run 5.10 Minnaars as pure flat shoes (i.e. left the pad stuck in the middle of the shoe), but TBH I reckon they'll be too stiff to be good shoes for flats (but they will work). I'd say, if possible keep the current clipless shoes and buy a good pair of flats. Personally, I have found the 5.10 Impacts to be the most robust (the Barons, which are similar to the Freeriders have a much thinner sole and do wear quicker), but the thinner, slightly more flexible sole does offer a bit more grip than the Impacts. If I were to choose and could have only 1 pair, I'd go for the Impacts purely for there additional ruggedness (they still offer great grip). My girlfriend swears by the Sombrios which were going for a good price on CRC not so long ago (but I have no 1st hand experience with them).
