  1. The dirt looks superficial. Just don't point the high pressure washer at her bottom bracket or headset
  2. Shot, I'll give them a ring.
  3. Got a set of these and they are by far the most comfy knee pads I've worn to date. I'm yet to fall on them so I'm not sure how protective they really are or how hard wearing they'll be. I really want the elbow pads like this too but no where seems to have them in a S/M to fit my skinny arms. So, if anyone is interested, I have a set of 661 Kyle Straights going for a case of Black Label (bottles, not cans!) They are in decent (used) condition & I'll give 'em a wash prior to collection.
  4. Isle of Man TT happening this weekend, practice starts 25 May... Awesome! http://vimeo.com/53551115
  5. Okay, I'll repeat too... OH NO not the Eye Boggler ... blah, blah, blah. Something about improving the N3 & something regarding the tables...
  6. Remove the pads and slightly squeeze the leaver to see if both of the pistons are moving freely. Often one side gets jammed. If this is the case, first clean the caliper, then add a drop or 2 of either DOT 4 or DOT 5.1 brake fluid to the edge of the piston I then put a screwdriver through the caliper and restrict the movement of the moving piston so that the stuck piston will free itself. Once the stuck piston starts to move add another drop or 2 of brake fluid and repeat. Make sure you don't advance the piston(s) too far or they could fall out. Once they are both moving push both pistons back into their bore. Clean all the brake fluid off the caliper using isopropyl alcohol and refit the pads. The caliper should center itself better, which will result in less chance of the brakes binding.
  7. If you're just using (600km) rides to KZN as training then what event are you training for?! But if you're just riding xc down in KZN, your current bike will be just fine. That said you cant have too many bikes and this looks like a decent build (for the right price) and it can certainly be taken down some gnarly trails with all that travel. Seems to get decent reviews online too: http://www.bikeradar.com/mtb/gear/category/bikes/mountain/full-suspension/product/review-kona-process-dl-46712 http://www.bikemag.com/gear/news-konas-new-all-mountain-bike/ http://www.pinkbike.com/news/Kona-Process-150-Millimeter-Travel-Playbike-2012.html
  8. What sort of riding do you want to use the bike for?

    Stolen DH Bike

Nice looking rig OM! Where are you getting the Ti spring from?
  10. More than enough time. You can exit to the right with no issue (before each of the jumps). I usually 'warm up' by hitting 1 a couple times before committing to the rest of the line
  11. Yup, Scout Hall line is definitely jumpable on an AM bike. Just roll the first jump a couple times and begin to hit it faster & faster as your confidence grows (you may also have to slow your shock rebound down a click or 2). if you clear the 1st jump you'll have more than enough speed for the rest of the line. It took me a little while to get used to jumping the Heckler on the Scout Hall jumps but now they a great addition to the afternoon commute home.
  12. Does this mean you're going to be clipping in now?
  13. Well platforms are flat pedals as far as I know I'm waiting it out to see what the CrankBros Mallet DH are going to cost (I'll probably go with those). http://p.vitalmtb.com/photos/users/109/photos/41881/s780_BT_20120830_untitled_shoot_041_244.jpg?1346420435 If the price is exorbitant, I'll just get a set of Shimano M545's as I hear they are bombproof. I've currently got a hand-me-down set of generation 1 Mallets.
  14. I have been running NukeProof platform pedals. Got a set of Electrons & a set of Protons. I've been very impressed with the Electrons, they are extremely light (due to the plastic body) but provide ample grip with the metal pins and to date they have proved to be very robust.
  15. I've used cleats before but have been riding flats for the last year or two. I love riding flat pedals. That said I've just started on cleats again as I want to race DH in cleats. So my plan is cleats on practice and race days and flats on play days. Best of both worlds
  16. Will Gwin stay with Reb Bull? Wasn't the Spez team sponsored by Monster last year?
  17. My current plan is to be there
  18. I bet Demo sales in the US will be at an all time high this year.
  19. Skollie, Cake & Frank
  20. The other option is to split an old tube and to zip tie it between the fork crown and the lower arch. Alternatively you can buy a neoprene version of this. http://vimeo.com/23496103# http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Images/Models/Full/27830-1.jpg
  21. I'm running the Marsh guard (I'm pretty sure they are identical) and I find it works very well for muddy ground, just to keep the spray off you face.

  24. Those look very much like the Marsh Guard. Wonder if there are any legal issues with copying the design? http://gp1.pinkbike.org/p4pb8249205/p4pb8249205.jpg http://gp1.pinkbike.org/p4pb8249411/p4pb8249411.jpg http://www.momsenbikes.com/images/stories/virtuemart/product/resized/mudguard_red_150x150.jpg
