  1. Cool, I'd really appreciate it. I've tried a D3 and the helmet just doesn't suite my head. My current Rampage is awesome, but I've had my eye on that carbon Rampage for a while now & should have pulled the trigger on the helmet before the Rand saw it's ar$e
  2. Do you have any idea what the carbon Rampage will retail for locally?
  3. You just don't have the legs to be my umbrella girl SB! Also its unlikely that I'll make this event. I actually need to spend a weekend at home at some stage.
  4. Wooo hoooo!!! Looks awesome. Where there's a Hylton Turvey let loose, there will be a MONSTER jump Just make sure he sends that thing on a proper DH bike and not his plastic circus bike!
  5. Seperate Reality in Yosemite National Park. 1st soloed way back in '86 by climbing legend Wolfgang Gullich http://www.mountainproject.com/images/16/25/107771625_medium_602509.jpg
  6. A LT bike is probably overkill fro the majority of JHB trails, that said, you can definitely seek out fun AM sections in and around Gauteng. Van Gaalens is probably the best on offer TBH. Slog up the hills and play down, but we have plenty fun along the spruit too. Personally I don't enjoy riding more XC oriented bikes so i'm willing to sacrifice pace to ride a bike that puts a bigger smile on my face.
  7. Sam Bull is on a Makulu AFAIK and he was at the race Pos. 137 Samuel BULL RSA 19 3:51.212
  8. Nah, it's too steep for the budgie smugglers on clown bikes to ride up that!
  9. Check out the helmet cam footage. The guy actually squeals at point and he is a very capable rider. I have no idea how you would race this beast! When they describe a track as " It's not as sustained steep as Champery, but it's still steep. And what Champery lacked in technical, Val di Sole has massive rocks and roots everywhere." I never knew tracks could get more technical I say it again. FARK!!! Sunday is going to be awesome.
  10. Fark Thorn199 beat me to it. Doh.
  11. Fark, track looks gnarly! http://ep1.pinkbike.org/p5pb9710541/p5pb9710541.jpg http://ep1.pinkbike.org/p5pb9710536/p5pb9710536.jpg http://ep1.pinkbike.org/p5pb9710535/p5pb9710535.jpg http://ep1.pinkbike.org/p5pb9710534/p5pb9710534.jpg http://ep1.pinkbike.org/p5pb9710529/p5pb9710529.jpg http://ep1.pinkbike.org/p5pb9710528/p5pb9710528.jpg
  12. Chatel bike park opens June 22! Apparently more snow at the end of the season has delayed the opening a wee bit. Not that it matters for me (this year) http://www.pinkbike.com/v/317172/l/

  18. My lack of surfing talent desperately needs this. http://vimeo.com/67886627
  19. We found a cool steep unmarked trail on the far right hand side of the hill (when looking from the top lift down), although it did deposit you out in Morzine about 700m downstream of the Super-Morzine lift. I really enjoyed Zore and it is relatively undeveloped. I have to stop coming back to this thread, it's getting me down.
  20. Two wraps of insulation tape, 1 wrap of Jaffa. Also I use OKO as I find it doesn't dry out as quickly as Stan's, Joe's or other ammonia based sealants.
  21. My guess is that the road is just to the left but who knows. Also I don't care i'm not going to get to ride it this year
  22. Track walk pics on PB. http://www.pinkbike.com/news/Fort-William-World-Cup-2013-The-Grey-Mile.html
  23. I reckon it's up top near the mini road gap (isn't it in the background on pic #2?).
  24. I've found that cheap duct tape does not last. Like someone else mentioned do a wrap of insulation tape first then wrap that with a layer of duct tape (I've used Jaffa tape in the past and it's been excellent, so good that I got a perfect seal with no sealant). Make sure you clean the rim well, with isopropyl alcohol or similar, to get the tape to adhere as best it can. Consider the direction in which you wrap the tape, it may have a limited affect but you want to limit the chance of it unwrapping due to the wheel rotating. Also, don't make the cut for the valve too big, just poke it with a nail and push the valve through. I've found that when I made the hole too large I had slime constantly weeping around the edge of the valve.
