  1. Yeah, thanks guys. Other than the totaled wheel, nothing much else damaged thankfully. I landed on my feet in this whole process, my unicycle bailing skills really helping out (aka. skills learnt while bailing off my unicycle) .However the pins on my pedals did take some skin off my left knee. Getting a new wheel hopefully today, or very early next week. I was going to do a training ride for the Argus this weekend, guess I'll carbo-load on some beers and have a good braai instead.
  2. My commute home yesterday was very abruptly cut short by a pedestrian who decided that running across the traffic was a great idea. Braking as hard as I could I could not stop in time. The lady in question was clearly as tough as a buffalo as she promptly got up, dusted herself off and ran off ?? I was still standing there my bike still in the road and she was gone. The front rim snapped, wheel is totaled .. 1 week to go to the Argus
  3. I've taken yesterday and today off as rest days for this weekend's 24hr in Oak Valley .... I am definitely more tired in the morning when not riding ?? I should be rested and feeling in top form ?
  4. Bike transport anyone ... ?
  5. Figured this would translate well do the downhill trails
  6. I recently bought myself a new backpack for commuting. There were a few things I wanted, but could not find a bag that met those requirements .... until eventually I found the First Ascent Orbit. It has all the storage space I need, additional rain jacket, back mesh, and so comfortable on the bike.
  7. After RocknRolla posted a couple of their tracks the other day I had to go find some more ... Got hold of their album. Super impressed, really enjoying it. So here is another track ...
  8. First commute ride of the year ... tick The Mountain Uni ride I did on Tuesday showed me how much I was slacking on the bike at the end of last year. Today's ride I kept my heart rate and output more in line with my MUni riding (not quite fully, but close enough), and rode so much faster and easier despite my legs screaming at me still paying tax from Tuesday's ride
  9. I had my bike ready for the commute for my first day back at work today. Unfortunately or fortunately (depends on which way you look at it ) my body took quite a beating on my Mountain Uni ride in Jonkers yesterday. Damn it was hot up there. Really paid tax in the heat. Note to self: if you're going to climb to the top of the single tracks, take much more water !! Tomorrow is it though, time to get the commute going

  11. That's amazing, really well done. I've had quite a bit more off than that. Need to up my game next year it seems
