  1. Even though I've been riding a mountain bike for almost 2 years commuting to work it has only seen dirt twice. The first was a short ride on the jeep tracks on Table Mountain joining the guys on their Wednesday morning ride. The 2nd was yesterday on my first real MTB ride in the Hemel en Aarde Valley. Managed a respectable 21km's with some awesome scenery and great single track riding a combination of the Blue, Red, and Black trails in the Valley I surprised myself I think in how well I managed some of the single track. No bails, but a reasonably close one riding the wood berms which are not a great idea if you're not carrying much speed and the wood is wet. Crossing a raging torrent carrying your bike is also not recommended.... that was a little hair-raising even if the waterfalls were quite spectacular. Yeah .. mountain biking is pretty cool, had a great time and would like to do it again. But having said that ... it still didn't beat the feeling of riding a Unicycle down some steep/technical downhill single track
  2. My helmet has saved my head, both in the mountain and on the road. IMO you'd be extremely foolish not to wear one. But if you don't want to wear one that's your prerogative, your head, your life.
  3. Oh that's funny
  4. This tune, or the main riff really, suddenly popped into my head this morning so I had to go find it and listen to the whole song
  5. Collaboration between Johnny Marr, Bernard Sumner, and Neil Tennant ....

  9. From my own personal point of view, I much prefer riding the Downhill trails. Much more technical with drops and stuff than engage the brain and the muscles in order to ride. I don't carry much speed so any flowy track gets boring quite quickly. Having said that though, it is just my opinion ... and being on 1 wheel I am in the minority The trail builders have offered to include some Uni specific stuff on the trails, we (the uni community) need to find the time to sit down with the guys to see what we can come up with. The offer has been extended to us, but in true Unicyclist form we've been quite slack in following things up
