Most have probably worked really hard to spoil themselves, and what better way than a bike! Well done to them for cycling. I think a better use of their money would be to sponsor their fellow cyclists? Maybe we should set up a hub fund? Purpose: Nice bikes and gear for all!!!!

Why dont we try to get something positive out of this? Shaunh, why not ask the 702 guys if we can get a spokesperson from the bicycle fraternity to condemn the actions of these cyclists, and express the opinions of the majority. We just want to share the road safely. We all pay towards it in some way. Should we not get our license money to do something? Should we not ask Cycling SA to do something on this? Could we get 94.7 involved.

Its not an easy one, Having watched the whole thing go down in front of us, its not that straight forward. there was some high five looking gestures, but the impact was solid. I cannot conclude on the intention of the pedestrian. Discussed this with WW afterward, and we could not conclude. The cyclist really went down hard, and probably was just aware of the impact, and not what happened. It was a catch 22, and the situation got out of hand. The other riders were very emotional, one was the father of the guy who was taken down. All I can say is, the guys should not have been in the middle of the road in the first place, they were on both sides, and bottom line is, event or no event, the route is bad. There was a black Audi just after that who nearly took out a young lady, must have been doing at least 140, blowing their hooter, and coming within centimetres of the rider. Its just a no-go. Particularly now with the threat of revenge.

Are they going to do another one? Date?

Oh yes... And the farlek sounds right too. Used to do that for jogging, before I saw the light and converted to cycling.
