  1. Any VPS fitment centre will sell you the stuff.
  2. I've noticed as well that the Zula is now fitted with the RP2 rear shock and not the RP23 anymore.
  3. Thanks, not bad at all. I only managed just over 7h30 2 years ago. Will give it another go next year.
  4. May I ask what your time was more or less?
  5. I had a similar experience in a local race on Sunday, where I appreciated my dual. I have done 2 Attakwas races before and most people back then were on duals and many of them on Anthems. That was 2 years ago though. It seems that the bikes would have a very similar weight if the spec is similar. Everyone raves about the ride on the Zula. I weigh around 73kg and climbing is one of my stronger points, just don't want to sacrifice that. The Zula is labeled as a XC/marathon bike. I'm just worried it might end up feeling more like an "all mountain" bike.
  6. So I know Raoul de Jongh and Roan Excelby rides/rode the Zula. How many other well known or less known good riders are making use of the Zula? I need to upgrade from my Anthem Team dual to something else. I had my heart set on a Zula, but all this talk about 29ers are confusing the crap out of me. Did a test ride on the Cannondale Flash 29er the other day. The ride was pretty good all round, but it is still not a dual on the DH's. I also don't like the parts setup on the standard bike. I still have more faith in Shimano. Will the Zula be faster than a good spec 2007 Anthem or will I be about on the same level as I am currently? PS: I do the odd XC race, mostly provincial and did some Nats last year. Prefer enduro's and stage racing.
  7. ..you log off and go and do some work.
  8. The poor lion probably had a headache after eating an oke pickled with brandy and coke.
  9. Efficient service, but they send whatever colour they have left in stock without checking with you first. On my purchase it made little difference, but my excitement is a bit tuned down now. Their response on the query was basically, sorry, that's all we had left. By the way, I ordered 30min after receiving a stock confirmation mail from them, so I did check first.
  10. Food poisoning. I had it after a DC 2 years ago. We stayed on the wrong side of the N2 in Swellendam. Never again!
  11. Compress the shock and while compressed, re-fit the dust covers. I do the same with air shocks when the dust cover pops off during full compression.
  12. Depends on the length of the spanner/wrench as well. 6Nm is not much.
  13. They have never had warranty on lenses, only the frames. The lense quality is crappy. They scratch easily and delaminate after some time. I would never pay full price on Oakley.
  14. The Fox RP23 is the difference between the Anthem 1 and the Anthem Team frame. I have the team frame.
  15. My partner and I used Chain-L in the Trans Baviaans. I have used it for a while now and my partner for the first time. We applied it once the night before the race en wiped the chain clean before the start. We were very impressed with how quiet the drive train was. Shifting was always smooth. We do keep our bikes dry though, which also helps. I applied some squirt at Berg Plaas just for the hell of it. I'm sure it was not necessary. We were both amazed how quiet our chains were climbing out the Never Ender with all the other bikes squeaking away. I am about to order more of this. Good product!
  16. I walked in with a cracked helmet and walked out with a new Bell Sweep. Took 10 minutes. I just phoned beforehand to make sure its ok. Greg Minnaar cycles. Didn't even buy the original from them.
  17. I've been very careful with mine. Have not dropped it. It worked fine until I charged it again. I charged it before without any issues.
  18. So I got myself one of those MD80 mini video cameras last week. I finally got to test it on the bike over the weekend. On Sunday afternoon the battery went flat during the ride. I got home, downloaded the videos off the camera and then left it to charge for around 2hours. I then unplugged it and noticed the red LED swithing off immediately. Normally the camera stays on after charging. Anyway, I then tried to switch it on but the red LED comes on only while I hold the power button in. When I release the power button the red LED goes off again. The blue LED does not come on at all anymore. The PC also does not detect the camera anymore. Trying to reset the camera also makes no difference. Anyone else with a similar problem on these cameras?
  19. How do you revert back to version 3.1 after installing 3.2?
  20. Had mine for 18 months now. Great little gadget but expensive. Installed the latest firmware recently. Left the unit on by accident and after battery went flat, I lost all my history and it went back to factory settings. Have not experienced this before. Is it normal?
  21. Don't like them either. You must make sure the little cam under the lever is orientated correctly as this can turn independently to the lever. Some wet lube from time to time also helps.
  22. Add some maze meal to your liquid to improve the plugging effect. Pulled out 10 thorns from my wheels after a MTB weekend, not one puncture and the holes sealed without a drop of stans on the floor when I pulled them out. My own mix though. Get the recipe off the net and save yourself some money. The REAL recipe that is.
  23. No it was the one on the XC course. I thought I could fly, I did, but the landing was a stuff up!
  24. Thanks for the suggestion. I did however catch myself screaming like a girl just before I landed on my head in PMB at that wooden bridge.
