  1. Yes, finally, someone willing to be the guinea pig reviewer! Let us know, I'm really keen to find out how this thing works.
  2. Awesome pedals he has on there...
  3. Madness!... A couple weeks ago I was struggling my ass off up a super steep little climb with my 2x10, when an old toppie comes flying past me on his SS on one. It was a sad day for me...
  4. I would stick to a trance. If you feel a 29er will give you an advantage for the type of riding you do, then get the 29er trance.
  5. Haha, yeah, I have contacted him about his. I think he sold a whole bike though? not just a frame? Any Monday morning hubbers have a guestimate? I'll contact a shop or two when they open to see about pricing for a new one.
  6. Haha, I'll probably still sell it in the end. Just hanging on to it while I get rid of my trance ... but dont worry, I'll try replace it with something awesome
  7. Hahaha, dam man, I don't know how you guys do it. I'm still trying to get to grips with this 34, but im getting there, one day at a time.... Thinking of cheating with one of those 42t sprockets out back. Have to wait for some decent reviews first though http://www.oneupcomponents.com/
  8. mmm, will phone tomorrow and see what LBS says, hopefully they can help me out Perhaps someone around here has priced FS a giant frame recently?
  9. Hey all, Was wondering if someone could help me set a price for my 2013 Trance X1 frame. I have it in the classifieds hoping for an offer, but even if I get an offer I wouldn't know what to accept What do you guys think would be acceptable? https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/71138-giant-trance-x1-2013-medium-frame/ Thanks for any help...
  10. So it turns out it was the "B-Tension" screw. I was stuck with what seems to be a common Sram rear der problem where you cant get the upper derailleur wheel anywhere near their recommended 6mm from the biggest ring at the back. I ended up backing the screw out all the way so that I could get as close as possible, this is what caused the problem. I turned the b screw back in until it all kinda looked right and now the problem is gone.... yey! Just thought I'd share in case
  11. Haha, thanks Phillip, it is getting easier... or at least I'm dealing with the pain better! Speaking of, I just did a conties bikeshed to bikeshed loop yesterday... Skipping out the grapevine climb. Dam that blue route is too much fun! But that last jeep track climb is still killing me!
  12. Why don't you like them? If I may ask.
  13. They were actually alright, I think there was only one section I pushed that I could have maybe done on a two by ten. There were like 20 other people pushing that section, if not more... So I didn't feel too bad... Even guys with 2x10.
  14. Dam dude, the climbing and heat together were quite tough and it's definitely a good idea to get your knee rested / healed... Hopefully there will be something soonish again... We needed some more company at the back of the climbers... Haha
  15. Agreed... 3 just takes it for me... But one and four were also sick... Four had a couple "sand pits" which caught me by surprise
  16. Yeah, stages were a bit of a mixed bag, something for everyone . Stage 3 was the best for me, some other were a bit too pedally, but overall great fun. I don't think you missed anything on the 5th stage, looked more like they had a bit of singletrack left over at the end to get everyone back so they decided to make it a stage out of it.
  17. Sounds like a plan, next time you bring the beer... Yeah cap, stage 2 got me in the teeth! Clipped my bars about 5 times as well... Eish!
  18. Dam what a day, climbing was a bit of a bitch in the heat, but overall pretty dam fun... I was expecting to see mayhem and POS there, what happened to you guys? We had beer and everything
  19. So it seems there are over 100 entries in. I'm quite excited for it, cant wait, but a bit nervous about the trail.... "The trails are great, but you’re going to feel it!"... hahaha
  20. +1... I think for the majority of people the Trance will do everything that Anthem can do, and more.
  21. Good, I definitely want to make my way out there for some more riding soon.
  22. Some guys don't realise that they're making use of someone else's land. Just because you pay to ride, it doesn't mean you can do what ever you like. Over the week end a landowner shut down about 6km of tygerberg singletrack running over his land because of one member not playing by the rules (It doesn't help that the member was rude to the landowner when confronted either ).
  23. Ah yes, I had them mixed up. Mamba was great! Boomslang was a little too muddy, but still enjoyed it all. Was nice meeting some hub guys as well, helped us avoid getting eaten by some crazy baboons.
  24. Yeah, one of the trails looked in pretty bad shape... The top section, I think it's boomslang was Lekker.
  25. Do u think its worth it driving from northern suburbs for a ride? Or too muddy and slippery?
