  1. Haven't seen anyone mention this yet: http://www.pinkbike.com/news/Hope-New-Rims-Stems-and-More-Core-Bike-2014.html Most excited about the combo of narrow wide chainring and 42 tooth expansion for a 10 speed cassette... I know these products have been made by other companies before, but I'm hoping (excuse the pun) that they will be easier to get our hands on than the current options, particularly the 42 tooth in the rear.... What do you reckon, going to buy any of it?
  2. I found this to be an important detail, makes a huge difference.
  3. and so.... wheres the dam pic?
  4. Yip, old mounting hardware did the trick. Popped in at stoke to meet the guys and they helped me out by pressing out the unneeded bushes from the new shock. Had a quick test out in the street and all seems good. Can't wait to hit the trails tomorrow!
  5. The new rear shock should be arriving later today, I'll see if I can make a plan when it arrives, but I wouldn't want to head home from work thinking I've got something thats going to work and then it doesn't ... hehe
  6. Thanks for the info, On reading around I did stumble on a thread where they were discussing fox's new mounting hardware, I thought it might be a problem for me changing to RS.... Ah dam, not the news I wanted to hear, but thanks for the heads up. Looks like I will have to take it in somewhere. Wonder where would be the best place? I would love to be able to get it sorted today!
  7. This is what the top of the existing shock looks like: And this is the bottom, no bushing, the bolt that goes through the frame is the same diameter as the eyelet, then there is a spacer on either side.
  8. Wondering if someone here can demystify the whole mounting hardware/bushings thing for me? I'm changing from a 2014 Fox CTD Evolution to a Rockshox Monarch+ and from reading around I'm not so sure its going to be a straight swap. So, will the mounting hardware from my fox shock work with the monarch? Am I right in assuming that If the eyelet diameter and width of the eyelet (from side to side) are the same, then there would be no need for different hardware? or does it not work like that?

  10. Haha, I got a 661 recon as well, very light compared to that!
  11. Got the same one! So what you think?
  12. I think I have the same bike as you (trance 2?). What I've noticed is that the stanchions on my fork are actually 150mm long, but it only gets 140mm travel when deflated. I'm temped to strip it and see if they didn't perhaps just shove some kind of stopper in there to limit it to 140mm. Perhaps they did it cos else there wouldn't be a big enough difference between the regular trance and the sx versions that come with 160mm on the front. Do you stanchions measure the same?
  13. Yeah, conties is insanely fun now!
  14. Cool, I will give them a shout. Thanks. I've researched a fair bit and it seems to be the most popular choice for my bike. Been chatting to a guy in the states that has the same shock on the same bike and he reckons its the way to go as well... very little info available though...
  15. I saw the one he was selling, its in the wrong size unfortunately
  16. Do any shops/suppliers in SA bring these in? I've been on the phone with a couple of local shops and they all get back to me saying that their suppliers don't bring in the monarch plus at all, only the monarch... I know theres a couple guys here on the hub that have bought one, where did you get it from?! Can anyone point me in the right direction?
  17. Dam dude, five loops is impressive. I got to the top of my third loop once, but I was completely stuffed, couldn't concentrate and fell my ass off. This was even before the new section opened.
  18. I took mine out today, I found the exact same thing...
  19. ... One of the owners popped out to the post office today to send your helmet when I was there.
  20. I popped in to rapid sports to check the etto helmets out. What an awesome buy for only R440. I ended up chatting to one of the owners, I asked and he says they're totally willing to ship it via speed services if anyone wants to order. I bought an orange one and got a nice little deal at the counter for paying cash.
  21. He already has... a couple of pages back ... I hear its being collected tonight
  22. Why'd you have to say that, I was set on the ruffian, and now this is the second time I read, in two days, that the rogue is awesome....
  23. I cant believe these grips are so popular, yet so hard to find in SA!
  24. rouxtjie, are you maybe thinking of ESI grips? thats all i fund on their site...
