  1. Worlds slowest ADSL
  2. Just thought that the std spots will mess-up the AR's neat aerodynamics and behind the seats the airflow is already "dirty"
  3. The Crow - With Felt's new '09 Aero AR range - where is a good/smart place for your bottles? Behind the seat maybe, TT style?
  4. Very very nice! And tempted to change my buying plans for later this year... The Crow - are you in the trade? If yes, which shop?
  5. Same. Also doing the medium route - fits better into my training schedule. That is my story and i am sticking to it. But i plan to do the medium route at a good pace (until i get to the old Helshoohte...)
  6. As the other hubber mentioned, pedalpower.co.za will give you good info - click on "calander" and call-up all the events. 5th Oct08 is the race at Boschendal - should be very good and scenic. has 2 mountains, nothing like the Grossklockner race in Austria, but still quite hard. will be windy!! 11th Oct08 - Nelson Creek / Engen race, nice and flat (rolling hills). Otherwise link up with a cycle club close to where you will be staying and do their casual rides and training
  7. That brings back memories of that one shoe repair shop I went to ? it had a big sign ?Repairs done while you wait?. They did not lie, %@&^$, that was the longest waiting I ever did!!!
  8. I am fairly happy with the PPA, has worked well for me. Normally they respond quickly to my queries ? if not I phone them or pop into their offices, and that normally gets a fast response. They are not perfect, but fairly good ? always keep in mind what they DO, and what falls outside their work/business scope.. The competition from CycleLab has been great and forced PPA to lift its game. PS: PPA is not CSA (same industry, different service/product provider!!!!) PS2: As with TV, if you don?t like the crap programme, just don?t watch/join?.
  9. Thanks for the info - have the same problem. Anything one can do before the race as an prevention?
  10. Guys ? I really learned a lot today, thanks! Especially, as I just came back from my LBS and nearly bought a pair of Mavic. Will consider going the hand-built route.<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> I am looking for a pair of weekend racing wheels. Any advice?
  11. Free "below the line" advertising for The Hub. Great.
  12. Mmmhhhh!?! Which roads/route would you take?
  13. What, me worry? (Alfred E Newman)
  14. I just bought one half a year ago (my 1st proper road race bike, had a hybrid before). Business is doing well and I might buy another on, you know, upgrade? The cycling bug has bitten me badly... I am fairly new at cycling and this is why threads like this are great for me.
  15. Well' date=' you tell me ? yesterday and today Cape Town had their worst storm in +-10 years. Yesterday morning I still backed my van at 6h50am to do The Outriders ?Leg Loosen?er? The weather was (and still is) very, very bad. I still went, plus there were another 18 guys who turned up. We could not ride, but I was really impressed that I was not the only one who came to the meeting spot? [/quote'] I got so wet just riding back to the coffee shop where I had parked my car. In the afternoon I took the family to do some ?storm damage watching? in Sea point. Still kicked myself that I could not slip-in a quick cycle ride! <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

  17. Hope you get better soon!!!!
  18. Do you want a Caddy??? Have been looking at cars - found a private sale Caddy (2006 wht 1.6 46 000km ) They want to sell it quick and are going to a dealer(s) today - i know they (sadly) will only get a low low low offer from the dealer. They are going to the land of oz. She is a v well known cyclist.
  19. Thanks - great info!!! Have had a few "close shaves? with maroons in cars. I am not afraid of the law, but some drivers scare the hell out of me. Especially those who have not done a proper drivers test etc. They are easy to spot ? they are those who think that traffic signs / road markings are for decorational purposes only ?<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
  20. Very interesting to get all that useful feedback.<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> AFTER a ?solid? race/ride I use Fast Fuels Recovery ? works exceptionally well for me. the sooner the better! DURING the race I use(ed) Energade at half strength plus some apple juice and some lemon juice (= as a natural preservative!). My dentist told me this Monday to change from Energade as the coulorants (naartie) are staining the teeth despite all my regular and frequent cleaning...
  21. Will check-out the link. One of the reasons i did not use Squirt on my new rd bike was the chain suck when i used Squirt on my hyprid bike. But i might have used it incorrectly ?!?
