  8. we should be gathering outside all GA depots at 4.00am in the morning and chaining ourselves to their gates to stop their busses getting onto the roads. even if we delay them by half an hour it'll throw their timetable into a mess. that'll get everyones attention
  9. i think its about time that there is a concerted effort on the part of the PPA to take on GA iro their bad drivers. i know for a fact that Steve Hayward the current ppa chairman has had a few run in with their drivers. i have been buzzed for years by them on my early morning training rides. a friend of mine was knocked down by a GA bus on Vissershok - he was lucky , the front of the bus winged him and sent him flying sideways. the excuse, i couldn't miss u becos there was oncoming traffic and the road was narrow. there was a cyclist (worked at Woolies) killed in the Waterfront 1 Sunday morning on the ring road (cycle lane, double lane, little traffic) never heard what happened to the driver.
  10. see highlights - training program???? come on if they took in the training they were given maybe they would drive a bit better. eye witness accounts say that he hooted and then overtook. it was deliberate and unsafe.

  12. i have had my run ins with GA buses on the road from P Eiland to Table View at 5.30 in the morning. i eventually emailed GA and had a very supportive response. since then i (we) have had no problems. they used to hoot and pass very close to us even though we were the only ones on the road at that time of the morning.
  13. the R60 between Ashton & Swollendam has been closed due to flooding.
  14. with the wind still making it very unpleasant to ride along the coast we went up to Parow North and rode the circuit there which made for a pleasant change.
  15. agree with your thoughts on Armstrong , he had a fine tactical brain in Johan Bruyneel backing him with cc tv and a strong team dedicated to him winning the GC in the TdF. pre cancer he was a domestique, then team leader with various small teams, you could almost compare him to Thomas Voeckler.
  16. no doubt about it, Eddie Merckx. then Bernard Hinault, bronze to Miguel Indurain.
  17. just can't understand why riders have to look behind them in a bunch situation, there is nothing that can be that important.
  18. F'hoek CC , i'll call Geddon Ruddock and ask him to discipline his member....
  19. saw bits of helmet flyin off the one okes head in all directions. i wonder if the warranty will cover the broken helmet.
  20. i believe in windguru - i looked at it last night and it said no rain for CT today (at the time it was p*ssing it down). we had almost perfect weather for the hill climb.
  21. yes, there were a few DQ's in the results sheet but i won't mention their names.
