So, Friday has arrived and no results yet! Just the fact that you have to pay a premium to enter this race makes one want to expect premium service. That includes results before the next year's race.

Good call. running the same on my 29er and it works great!

It seems an endless debate! I have been very "suspect" of the whole 29'er thing. Then, in a moment of weakness I succumbed to some great salesmanship and bought myself one. It is still early days, but all I can say it is very different. I find climbing a bit harder, but training and getting use to the drivetrain should sort that. Downhill is is DEFINITELY faster. Single track I'm still not to sure cause I've never been a good technical rider. But as they say, different strokes for different okes!!!!

Thank goodness for taking out that last b h of a climb right at the end and thanks for the added singletrack. Very enjoyable in that it is one of the only races where you get something of everything when it comes to the terrain. R180 is maybe a bit steep, but whilst we all complain we still rock up and sweat it out!

Yes, I know there are a whole lot of titbits on The Hub re 29ers, so please just point me in the right direction if I ask something that has been dealt with before..... I am brand new to the 29er fraternity, got myself a nice Giant Anthem X. My 26 was also an Anthem and so I was thinking that the setup should be rather similar? Unfortuately I get the feeling I'm sitting too low, is this just because of the new ride or is it necessary for me to redo my whole setup? Second Q, is it the done thing to have a riser bar on a 29er? Third Q, Bar ends??? I always felt more comfortable climbing with these on my 26, so are they the done thing in the 29er setup? Fourth Q, does anyone know why the heck the bike does not have a bottle cage mounting on the bottom side of the downtube (hope this is the right name)? As you can see I'm really new to all of this, so help will be appreciated!

Chaser - same here, 3:00:18 So close yet so far! The front guys in E were hauling it and got dropped with craming on Suikerbossie! We will just have to go back to the drawing board....

It boils down to the fact that the lack of a proper legal system and the actual protection of law abiding citizens' lives give some individuals the perception that they will not be held accountable. Our constitution protects the rapist, the murderer. The system lets us down and until this imbalance is corrected we stand no chance of having a law abiding nation where people respect each other's rights, especially the simple right to protect a life.
