Seems the Specialized frame they're all riding is a Tokyo Olympics Special Edition.

I updated my initial comment as to why they're on the Specialized and not Sworks model

What I'm saying is that the WT riders all ride Sworks frames and not Specialized frames (there is a slight difference in the 2 with weight as the seatpost and fork on the Sworks model is lighter) so it was surprising to see the riders on Specialized frames and not Sworks frames.

I've noticed quite a few of the riders who ride for teams with an Sworks bike sponsor are actually riding Specialized frames and not Sworks frames, Not sure why this is. Ashleigh is 1, Vollering is another, actually seems like all the SD workx ladies, Remco is another and I've seen a few others in the build up on their training ride pics they've posted, Just surprised the guys and ladies aren't riding the same bikes they've been riding all season. Update: Afrter some digging, it seems that all the riders who ride the Specialized brand all have the same Special edition paint scheme just for the Tokyo Olympic games

That's what i thought, and he got a 7th at the 2016 Games, i would've thought he would've been the 1st name on the list. Perhaps he never made himself available and focused solely on the Tdf.

Also must be a proper tough climb if Nic and Stefan are on their small blade and 28T cog LOL

Surprised Nic has the bands though as he was never an SA champ. Ryan also doesn't have the Aero sleeves, Perhaps that's just their preference.

Seems like socks weren't part of the kit order LOL... Nice little touch by BMC on Nics frame, same as that of Marc Pritzen who is the current SA Champ. Also, knowing how some of the Pro's are about the fit of their kit, I'm not too sure if Nic and Ryan will be happy, Kit looks big/loose around the collarbone areas, and Nic looks like he's borrowed Viviani's Cofidis helmet LOL

Whilst Alan's team mates wear their Olympic kit for training rides, Alan wears his team kit, perhaps he isn't happy with the Team kit or just chose not to ride it in training?

So I have a few friends going to the Olympics(do I keep good company or perhaps they just keep bad company??) Anyway, as I was saying, The kit supplier seems to be Maxed (Mr Price Sport), the trainers are cheapos, the tracksuits aren't bad in terms of quality and the casual clothes like Tshirts, Golf shirts and shorts and slacks are apparently literally what you can go into the store and buy off the shelf, Olympic Logo and alles, off the shelf. The travel bags are of a good quality. Hockey ladies like their kit but the soccer guys are proper bleek, the training kit and match kit fit is apparently diabolical to say the least. (SA are currently playing against Japan, 0-0 currently)

So yesterday I chatted to a guy who works for Tactic and I asked a few questions. Ashleigh's kit is the Tactic kit you see as their factory is in Girona and she and Daryl are based there so had been working hand in hand with the factory(Daryl is obviously no longer riding) All the other cyclists will be wearing kit made by Bioracer as the the SA Olympic organizers never gave Tactic the quantities and sizes in time for production to be completed, However they have put in a tender for future events.

Cool to see Tadej and Jan Polanc wearing plain white Met helmets and not their red and black UAE helmets which would look abit funny with their green and blue kit.

Could be worse, You could be 1 of the 6 Polish swimmers who got to Tokyo only to be told you're not actually partaking in the games and your name is not on the competitors list because your Federation botched the admin, So sorry but you will be on the next flight back home to Poland. All the riders ride their own team bikes though, Like with SA Nic is on his BMC, Stefan on his Willier and Gibbo on his Colnago.

Ok ok, I'll be the 1st to admit I never ever thought the kit would look as good as it does. Even though it's not made by Castelli or Bioracer or Santini like alot of the other countries kits so they've got Aero socks and gloves and all the rest, I must say I think Maxed/Mr Price have done well with this one. Ashleigh even has the SA flag on the cuff of the bib and right sleeve, which I'm assuming is because she was the previous SA Ladies Road champ(I may be wrong but haven't seen any of the others in their kit). So well done to Maxed/Mr Price Sports. (Ps, I'll never wear their actual kit out of the store, the fit is horrible) Edit: on closer inspection, I may be wrong, But seems the kit may have been made by Tactic, whose kits are kinda cool

Tubulito have come out with a new upgraded inner tube called the "X-Tubo City/Tour" which is a Polyurethane Inner Tube which has a 1 year warranty against all punctures.
