  1. You forgot to mention it's often hot as hell I'll probably also be there
  2. I've been in the cycling industry for nearly 20yrs now... always been involved in the advertising side in some shape or form, seen more bike ads than I have hub posts. For these two decades, every bike has gotten lighter, faster, stiffer, more aero by anything from 5-20%... and yet, all these years on we're barely all that quicker than 20yrs ago. Marketing - she's a thing of beauty... and we are all suckers Funny enough... these Nike shoes are real innovation, possibly making a real difference - shock horror
  3. Bulgaria's coach 'didn't see anything' - that's how few f%*#'s these eastern block countries really care about racism. They must ban them 6 months at a time until the message sinks in... maybe then they'll actually try do something about it Crazy to think it's the year 2019
  4. In my mind they have already broken the mental barrier... since the Nike attempt the times are charging downwards, Eliud at Berlin and now with the new 21km record. I just hope he can break it before he starts to decline as an athlete... can't imagine he has too many years left at his peak and he's definitely the right man for the job Going to be helluva interesting - hope those crowds can get him home!
  5. Finally found a use for Patch... Gives me some hope for myself too That bike is an iconic beauty
  6. Sadly not this year... had too much on my plate, and I also would of died if I'd tried the extreme in my current running condition. Did have a colleague there and she did her first proper trail run which she loved. The wife and I are already targeting it for next year, still just working my way through my little back challenges - but seems there is some light out there
  7. I'm gonna save my legs best I can going up... long way to the finish there, and a climb like that can do some proper damage. I did enjoy the old days, kind of knowing you were basically home and dry after cresting it, but the legs weren't always to happy to hit a climb like that after 90kms Gonna be fun, starting to enjoy my riding again
  8. See you there... not sure who's idea of fun it was to plonk Hekpoort so early in the race... could be very interesting
  9. Can you guys please not talk about laxatives and chocolate mousse in successive posts...
  10. Shots fired...
  11. Should he leave, I could actually see him coming back again in 5yrs + for a second spell. I've no doubt he's an amazing manager, but his methods are also intense and I think it's maybe just run it's course with this squad. It just simply hasn't been freshened up enough from year to year to keep the players on their toes and even the new players this year, the 3 signings, have barely even kicked a ball... so it's just more of the same and everyone just seems to have run out of steam. I wouldn't want him to go to Utd, because I know he would be a success It does seem time for a fresh start though at Spurs, we still have a great squad, but far too many players seem lost and out of sorts and the league is ruthless if there isn't focus... Rodgers would probably be my first choice to replace Poch, if we could even get him at the moment - not too many other options out there I see ticking the right boxes
  12. United need to rebuild... nobody better than Poch for the job. Will be sad to see him go, but I think it's rapidly approaching the point of no return... Spurs players no longer back him if I look at the effort in games - will be a very sad end, but hard to see it any other way
  13. Have joined... pity I missed the start, won't have any bonus points, but that just adds to the challenge
  14. Since sport became professional, I don't see why doping is not seen as fraud - jail time would really be a game changer. Any sport where physical performance is important (and pretty much most sports are) - the top guys are doping, because they quite simply can as long as they stick to some reasonable parameters... Only cycling has a doping problem of course - that glorious old adage applies... "if you don't test in your sport, your sport can't have a doping problem" Those rugby stats are scary - but quite frankly I don't think you have a chance at a professional rugby career if you don't partake in at least a little bit of the naughty stuff... I'm not sure it's too much different in cycling and running. Can only feel sorry for the people trying to crack it the clean route Sad state of affairs
  15. Hahaha... one does wonder. But then you look at pics from training and they're right next to each other most of the time laughing and playing, so probably just the usual rumor mill
  16. Very glad I am a bit under the weather... so luckily was tucked up in bed and missed the game. But yeah, problems we be having... something not lekker at all in the camp 7 goals from 10 shots on target is something else in terms of being clinical too. Going to be a rough week behind the scenes
  17. All dopers are innocent and the real victims... you should know this by now.
  18. This isn't a top 4 squad imho: https://www.skysports.com/manchester-united-squad
  19. First up, I don't think they have good players... 4-5 maybe, but even they are inconsistent. The manager is everything though if you ask me, Sir Alex could well of won the league with this lot... he pulled some miracles in those latter years. But now, honestly, how many players from Utd would make the City/Liverpool starting 11? Virtually none. Maybe Pogba, but only once he'd fallen in line and learnt that Pep is the boss and he listens and does as he is told, or leaves... other notable mentions Wan Bissaka, Maguire, De Gea, Rashford but they'd all struggle to start. United have fallen far behind very quickly
  20. I think we all called it last season that he wouldn't last long... you need that history and pedigree to give you that little extra time to right a ship when things do inevitably go wrong. This is the second big slump for United in his short spell and there aren't really any signs he is heading in the right direction... they're playing ugly football
  21. I've gone for the score draw for Superbru... can see both defenses struggling and both teams being happy enough with a point after conceding a few. If anything I'd edge towards United being at home, but they're poor at the moment so it's hard to back them
  22. Another positive for Spurs... we've found our best RB option in Sissoko He's such a team player, limited for sure, but you got to love him. Glad to see some fight from the team
