  1. I really hope it's not 2013 weather... that was my first Comrades - brutal, brutal day. Polly shorts was an absolute war zone... Still wear that 11:83 'finish' with pride
  2. The history and stories behind this race never cease to inspire. Thinking of all you lucky folk getting to add your little line to this glorious showpiece this Sunday.
  3. Disappointing final, but well done Liverpool... certainly a team and coach worthy of some silverware. Hopefully the start of bigger things at Spurs
  4. I haven't got photos yet, but I think you will find them in store in Cape Town now They are moving shop this weekend though (staying in the same center), so maybe just double check before heading through. Have heard they are super cool and cute though... Look forward to some pics of them out on the trails!
  5. Agreed... she's in a league of her own with 100milers etc, but not quick enough for Comrades I reckon. Even an up run.
  6. Seen these at a few expos, they look good... and the pricing looks good value. I've never used one though... you got one Candz?
  7. Are you in a rush... else Nice Camelbak running packs do pop up on OneDayOnly quite often. Dave is 110% right as well, buy a running specific pack - even a slogger like me notices a big difference between the two packs I have, one running specific, the other more a hiking pack. It's night and day...
  8. Interesting reply on the criticism aimed at City... lots of sour grapes out there. A lot of their purchases have been pretty smart buys as well. They're not throwing out transfer fees in anywhere near the league of some of the other clubs. Got to laugh at Real complaining https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/48416268
  9. It's a mental distraction if anything to latch on to someone... a better view also always helps too of course. When running, any distraction helps in my books - if your mind is watching heels, or bums, or chatting away - you aren't focused on the pains inevitably creeping in somewhere...
  10. Quite correct... we are Glory hunters, we're just either not very good at it, or taking the scenic route. But it's all about the journey isn't it
  11. There was a nice article a couple weeks back on the overall rankings of the English clubs the last 50 years... offers some cool insights. Liverpool of course will be delighted to be ahead of Utd https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/11713743/sky-sports-ultimate-league-201819-every-clubs-true-standing-over-past-50-years-revealed
  12. You are of course quite correct... for the majority of people they pick a team based on success. It's one of the strange modern world quirks for me that I've just never understood... people somehow thinking it makes them special or better because they chose to back some juggernaut team with unlimited funds which ultimately gets a lot of success. Yah United, Yah City, Yah Real... so much of meh in my books But hey, I'm one of those weird Spurs fans of three decades, clearly not hunting too much glory And you asked for a reason... I'll give you two words, Paul Gascoigne
  13. Eish, look after that... hope it comes rights soon. Glad it's gone well for Jess, look forward to seeing how you guys go on race day. No running for me for a while still, need to restart at the bottom I think and do a proper build up while still taking the strain away from my lower back. Probably going to join the gym and get back into my cycling for a bit as well, while I try sort it all out.
  14. You're all machines in my books... How you and Jess feeling? All looking on track?
  15. Not much more than an exhibition match in my books... just never been taken that serious by teams
  16. Could easily be a decade plus before Utd are even competing for titles again... how many might City or Liverpool rack up in that time? Chelsea and City may have gate crashed the party of late with big spending owners, but that doesn't change the fact that they are now sitting at that table.
  17. I agree, but still don't see why they would go through the effort to remove it... they can still accept any fee they want, even well below the buyout clause. The clause is just a price point, which if met, takes away the clubs ability to stop a player leaving. The club can accept any fee they like
  18. You sure? Why would they even bother?
  19. Seems a long time ago now... https://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/oct/30/gareth-bale-real-madrid-new-contract-2022 1 Billion buy out clause 350 000 pounds a week after tax
  20. And Utd with Sanchez... etc etc
