    Hahahaha... just remembered the pearler of a twitter spat between Knox and David George where David accused Knox of either doping or taking a shortcut because he beat the field by so much. Sabie Ultra I think it was, about 5yrs back... Would love to see those screenshots now Bankers the lot of them. Where are their coaches/managers/suppliers etc - hope the Hawks are digging hard and deep!

    Always good to get the view of the people this really affects Change is always difficult to manage - especially with so much history involved. Quite like your idea of positions instead... 10-20 in both cats get Wally. But that I guess would also upset the men then... imagine you klap your first and only sub 6 next year and finish 23rd.     The New Zealanders saw this problem off long ago - when kids practice, they practice against kids their own size... So what happens when everyones's the same size? You trump your competitor with skills/speed etc - improving those skills and lessening the reliance on this head down moer forward stuff we often see here and in Europe

    They did test a whole bunch of the top riders recently at one of the Gauteng legs... I was kind of hoping they would set a precedent at the finals this past weekend and test the whole field, but I guess the money maybe isn't there yet. Any big corporates who wanna sponsor making sure this gets kept clean? With all sport it's a worry and one of my biggest pet peeves is parent's pushing kids into these dodgy realms... I can't even be cross with the kids as they're supposed to be protected from this crap by their elders. Apparently the competition levels at this Spurs final was extremely intense... can only pray it somehow stays/is clean.

    On my Comrades whatsapp group, pretty much everyone is now gunning for that sub 10... Welcome to the reality of many of your fellow Comrades athletes. Taking an hour off our times is way more realistic than taking two... Could work a treat, I guess time will tell And it doesn't take anything away from anyone - your Bill Rowan is still a Bill Rowan, your silver etc... And being pro-active in making the race medals more inclusive - winning in my books!

    Yip... somebody has to pay those bills. I do feel rugby is a lot like cycling was two decades ago (maybe still is), but you're going to struggle to compete if you're not doing a little something extra on the side. I'm all for evolution and of course there have been big advances in nutrition/training etc, but the one schools rugby pack last year was bigger than 95 Bok rugby world cup winning pack... and it wasn't because they ate all the pies.

    Agree it should of been sub 7... The other medal is largely to make the medal names more inclusive - which is also something pretty important I reckon. Change is always needed... I mean at one point not so long ago the womens winner only got a silver medal. Imagine how that would go down these days
