  1. My wife is a dietitian. They also have to figure out if the patient can afford the prescribed diet. A vegan diet in a country like South Africa is only for the rich. 'The Economist' does not include 95% of the population of the world. Millennials will lead the way?
  2. Agreed. Vegan is being MARKETED as do-gooder attempt to save the earth. The easiest way to save energy (and reduce a carbon footprint) is to set the aircon to 22deg or even 25 deg in summer. And heat up the building to 16 deg in winter. Yes, it will be a bit less comfortable. But you will do a heck of lot more than importing wonderfoods all over the planet with A1 jetfuel. The other really easy way is to drive SLOWER. And travel less. Much less. But the above unfortunately does not have marketing value. Neither does it have virtue signalling effects.
  3. Voor die tyd dat woorde soos cholesterol en Ivomec bestaan het
  4. My oupa het NOOIT maer diere geslag nie. Hy het gese hul is vol parasiete. Sieklik.
  5. Can't figure the gif out. Yawn? Yell? Constipation? Or a gasm?

  12. Do you need a circumcision to be vegan?
  13. Some okes start the grinding AFTER heat treatment. That way they only have to go through all the grits on the sanding once(or that is what they say) Just take care not to overheat the blade. Have you tried this before?
  14. After a year or so of this ebike fad, I see it as something that will blow over. The people who liked the idea, bought them. At some stage the batteries of these vehicles will need replacement. At a cost. They will hit the classifieds at rock bottom prices. The lazy will at some stage find the trouble that they have to go through too much. The cyclists will go back to real bikes. They will find the handling of these machines cumbersome. The frail will be the only ones left on these before moving on to mobility scooters.
  15. Don't argue with keybord farmers. They know it all
  16. Yes, but you do get vegan fruitcakes
  17. Don't hold your breath. It won't. I haven't sworn off anything. I dislike some foods though. I have sworn at a few Jehovah's though. I believe in a good balance.
  18. Just out of a practical point of view. Avo and almond trees can not be grown everywhere. They need a specific climate as well as large amounts of water. Fresh water. And the earth is drying out fast. I stay in Mpumalanga. The Croc river is drying up fast. Every hectare in the Schoemanskloof area is planted with trees. Macs and oranges. So the myth that vegan lifestyles are good for the environment is just that. A myth Where on earth are we going to plant all these almond, mac and avo trees? That is if we convert a large amount of people to vegan. Very much like the Jehovah's witnesses. There is only space for 144000 souls...
  19. Proper vegan popcorn. Yuck!
  20. Very much a choice of definitions. Trees can't run or cry. Trying to stay alive by omitting noxious substances is a next level of evolution. Same as with ethylene. Ingenious.
  21. ''other sources of the killer elements, he discovered the amazing fact that these acacia trees were capable of defending themselves from over-browsing by literally killing off the animals that ate their leaves. To top this off, he found that they also release ethylene from damaged leaves which float downwind, and are absorbed by neighbouring trees. The ethylene acts as a warning signal – a kind of chemical SOS. The neighbouring trees then start to produce more tannin-C before they are browsed'' https://uk.blastingnews.com/world/2015/10/the-incredible-killer-tree-that-broadcasts-an-sos-to-its-neighbours-00610971.html Trees and plants have feelings. We not being able to perceive it does not mean it does not exist.
  22. I beg to differ
  23. Interesting question. Yes I am. But you did not answer mine. Rule one. Don't be a hypocrite.
  24. Hopefully you do it by NOT eating products imported from other countries. The carbon footprint of transport is huge.
