  1. Dude, awesome by the way, that's an insane time! I'm almost too scared to ask if I can join for a few training rides with you again .
  2. I think it is high time that The Hub invite someone from Racetec to join the community and briefly run us through exactly how timing is done and calculated. And perhaps give a race debrief after every event re result uploads and updates etc.
  3. Yap me too - PB for me yesterday! Few of my buddies also don't have results yet so best is to hang on a day or two and then see.
  4. A lekker 94.7, came in at 2:38, considered a second lap but the call of fhe beers got tbe better of me.
  5. Hahahaha...your "reminds me of" reminds me of this Afrikaans music lover tannie who was so crazy about her local tunes that she had the faces of Steve Hofmeyer and Andre Schwartz tattooed on the insides of her upper thighs. As time went on Steve cheated on his wife and Andre sought um, alternative pastures and the antie realised that the tattoos were a bit of a social embarrassment so she went in for surgery to have them removed. After the op she wakes up in excruciating pain and calls the doctor to enquire about the success of the procedure. Dr replies: "Nee tannie ons kon vir Steve en Andre mooi afhaal maar magtag het ons nou gesukkel met Lucas Maree!"
  6. Haha ahh no man you went in for the kill too soon, should have played the formidable Franziska a bit longer!
  7. Sorry you're right. Fixed.
  8. Piesangbrood man, PIESANGBROOD.
  9. Nope, this is not getting my wannabe Team Sky bib in a twist...if I wanted to get all emotional about a lot of "oh-that's-so-three-years-ago" generalizations I'd watch Special Assignment or 3Talk or something. I do however, suspect that you hang out with the wrong crowds (or perhaps the wrong crowds don't want to hang with you...).
  10. Or perhaps Hanover...that's mos nou lekker in the middle for the okes from the north and the south...
  11. Now now, be nice, jeez dude.
  12. Hey thanks, ek moes nou aan almal in die kantoor verduidelik waarom ek hardop uitgebars het van die lag!
  13. I also frequently ride / run in that area...this is really becoming too much. Perhaps Hubbers training in Pretoria East that have been affected by such incidents could share coordinates or Kml place marks of affected spots. In that way we can start populating, and frequently update a Google Earth map of danger areas in Pretoria East for reference when we go out to ride or run? Would be great.
  14. Yah I know man I'm just sommer stirring a bit (perhaps out of jealousy of all the beautiful rides you dudes have down there!). Enjoy and be safe!
  15. Up here in P-town we are dodging bullets (literally) finding (relatively) safe routes to ride, not knowing if our next ride might be our last...and the folk from across the Boerewors Gordyn are at each other's throats about baboons, leads and MTB-canine etiquette. This is an entertaining thread.
  16. Um, is the police not missing the point of this rally by "requiring" certain "procedures"? I mean, if we can have massive unofficial group rides like the Critical Mass for cycling awareness, surely we can set up a small but visible display in aid of cyclist safety? Next time we should not even notify the authorities and just pitch up methinks.
  17. Claude ek dink dis 'n great idee - dis bitter jammer ek's hier bo in Pretoria want ek sou self verseker in so iets belangstel. Ek dink ons kan dalk hier in Pretoria na dieselfde konsep kyk, 'n paar van ons MTB buddies het al daaroor gepraat. Groetnis daar in die mooi wereld!
  18. I'm there as well.
  19. (yes I is being sarcastical...)
  20. OK, but: I see niterider was wondering the same thing. Not to go on about this but I'm actually really curious - did the retaining hardware come loose too - because that would, in my opinion, constitute a serious mechanical problem in the shoe.
  21. Yap! Can't help but get the idea that someone's trying their luck for a free pair of new Sidi's... ...
  22. I see Beeld is also running the story:
  23. I think the OP is being a bit unfair here. Dude, we're talking mountain biking shoes here - I also finished a pair of Sidi's in less than 2 years - not because the product was crap but because I rode all hell loose with them. If these shoes had only done 5/6 rides I would complain but that is not the case (I assume) and I can fully understand that ASG & Sidi is not breaking their necks over this one. Btw, I'm wondering now, how can the soles detach at the front if you have cleat screws that secure not only your clips but also the soles?
  24. Yep and the printed version...great work guys!
