Can any tell me how tax on commission works? I earn a basic salary plus a commission on any business I write. I heard that commission is taxed at a flat rate of 40%? Anyone know how it works?

Can anyone tell me if this is ok? I lost a pair of glasses at the Knysna 200 over the weekend, glasses in helmet vents when I took a tumble and they came loose. I was told by the insurer that I needed to fill out the form and get a quote for a replacement pair. Specialized no longer made glasses so I was told by my LBS that Rudy project was the closest alternative, the insurer said that it was fine that I use this quote. The quote given was for R2395 while my original Specialized cost me R1195. I send the form and quote in and my insurer came back saying that I would be paid R900 (R1150 less R250 excess). I am actually quite happy with this but as this is no where near enough to replace my lost pair I was wondering if this was fair?

Sounds about right...and not just at Cyclelab though...I find in general going into most bike stores and not looking like I'm about to drop 100K means I have to literally stand on my head to get a salesperson to take note of me...

Not sure if this is old news but I've just noticed that Sram has brought/is bringing out a new greoupset with a single ring at the front and 11 at the back. What are your thought and opinions on this? It looks pretty cool but would it be practical for cross country riding if you not a pro?

Ok, first to put this in some context. I ride a hard tail 29er, love the single track and feel most comfortable being outs the saddle for most of the track. I am not sure if anyone else has this problem and if its common or if I'm doing something wrong but I find all my shorts seem to be wearing through on the inside of the thigh. I assume it is from being out of my saddle alot. Is this common? Am I doing it wrong? I know this is going to get some rather interesting comments but here goes...

I have one pair of assos shorts on the way out and a newish bottom of the line craft pair(the pad isnt great) so thought possible a new pair might save my @ss...

Oh ok cool I get it now. My wheels are Stan's No tubes with Maxxis Crossmax tyres. I know the machanic who did my tubeless conversion mentioned that the tyres were't "proper" tubeless tyres so maybe that is the issue. Its the back wheel where I tend to feel the rocks hitting the rim through the tyre so maybe just a bit higher pressure wouldn't hurt. I weight about 78kgs...any advice on the tyre pressure?

I run my wheel on 2bars front and back but when on rocky surfaces i sometimes feel larger rocks bumping the rim. Is that normal? If i pump my wheels any harder then I find my back wheel slips on steeper,loose climbs.

Hey guys, I would love to help, I always think while riding the single tracks that it must take alot of work to maintain and we all take it for granted. Having said that I just need to see what my other half has planned fot that day. If I can't make it I would love to help out in the future. Lylo

Thanks Delilah, I think I will try a ride with maybe moving the seat back a bit and make an appointment for a setup soon and see what they say. I've heard that Trail and Tar in Tokai has a good setup person.
