  1. Just got myself one of these. Hands down the best coffee maker!
  2. I cant speak from experience or know how as I am not that clued up on bike sizing etc. I have however ridden with quite a few women who all ride men's frames and it doesn't seem to be an issue.
  3. I've told you GIRO EMPIRE!!!!!! Serious dancing shoes!
  4. http://ewn.co.za/2014/03/05/Road-rage-cyclists-2-apprehended anyone seen this yet?
  5. Giro Empire...Mike would be proud of them!
  6. So I had a thought with the Argus just around the corner, I'm sure there are a lot of guys out there that dedicate a lot of time and a hell of a lot of cash to getting not just themselves but also their bikes sub 3 ready. But what I'm more interested in is the guys still riding "outdated" bikes but still going sub 3. The guys who can't (or maybe do but chose not to) buy the latest carbon piece of porn but on the day make the guy on the superbike with deep sections question why he dropped 100k! Lets hear about/ see those bikes here. I cannot unfortunately start because I haven't gone sub 3, but I do ride an old alu giant...
  7. How much does an Impec cost in ZAR? Must be scary!!!!!
  8. I'm happy to say I through all four of my gu sachets away when I got home!

    99er crash out

Hi, thanks for clearing that up! Didn't mean to place the blame on the bakkie driver. It just looked so much like he had hit him that I didn't actually bother asking what had happened. As I say I hung around for a few minutes till his friend showed up and then continued on still thinking he was hit by the bakkie. Apologies for the wrong assumption!

    99er crash out

Hi guys. So at about 17km my friend got a flat so we stopped and lucky she had slime in the wheel so all we had to do was pump the wheel. As we were about to get going a bunch came past, probably like L batch, and we just weren't ready to go when they did. So as we got up and moving in the mist we just heard brakes and yelling and then we saw through the mist emergency lights come on. As we approached I saw a Bakkie stopped and the driver moving a bike out the road. The driver had obviously not seen the bunch in the mist and hit the tail end, taking one rider down from behind. I came around the Bakker to see a guy lying face down on the floor. As I got off he tried to move his head so I knelt next to hit and started saying stuff like just stay down, don't try get up, you alive but don't try move, etc. not a great sight to see I have to say. He looked pretty battered but everything looked intact at first glance. The driver was calling the emergency number and I stayed with him till another group passed and one rider in matching kit said he knew the guy and would stay with him. At the finish I saw a group in the same kit and I informed them of the guy who went down and they said they hadn't heard about it yet. Worst part was as I was telling the, the youngest guy of the group got a call to say it was his dad!!!! If anyone knows how this guys is doing please let me know!
  11. Does anyone know the condition of the cyclist that was hit from behind by a Bakker at about 20km into the race. Bakker obviously saw the bunch too late in the mist and hit him pretty hard. I sat with him while the driver called emergency number, he seemed pretty bad but no apparent external injuries. I left when another guy from his club stopped so just want to check how he is doing. He was probably in like L batch. Had black kit on with some colorful strips on it.
  12. This happened to a friend of mine at the exact same KFC but he was selling a camera. I really don't mean to be rude but how can people trust an sms from an unknown number? Surely you check your actual bank account before releasing the goods. My friend released his camera to the guy because he got an sms from "the bank" saying money is in. its not hard to copy an sms the bank has sent you and then send it from one of the bulk sms services out there so that the number looks all long and official.
  13. Here is a tough favourite: 400 easy warm-up main set: 300m on 4min 2 times 150m on 2min 3 times 100m on 1min20sec repeat times the above 900m times 3 400 easy cool-down Total 3.5km Main set is continuous so no rest between broken 300s but as much rest as you'd like between sets.
  14. yeah I super stoked about the wind playing game this year! if the SE pumps the ski, road cycle and canoe can suck!
  15. I don't think anyone looks forward to the beach run. Looked at the tide and its full high at 12:30 so we will all be running up on the loose sand!
  16. Nice! Good Luck! Doing the challenge in pairs for the first time. Normally I just do a leg in the 7 man team.

  18. Here's a suggestion: https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/71840-bianchi-c2c-infinito/ https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/71220-sram-force22-zipp-components/ https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/71562-zipp-202-full-carbon-tubbies/ and you'll have R500 over!
  19. I saw that! Nearly made me come off the back of the group when he did that! might as well have come off the back then, maybe I would have got 3 punctures (ok 2 actual punctures and 1 pinched tube to be honest) later down the line.
  20. Speak to Grant at Trail and Tar in Tokai. I know there are quite a few woman of varying speeds that ride from there ,on road and mountain, during the week.
