  1. I ordered my Ultimate CF Slx 8.0 last night and I already have confirmation less than 24 hours later that my bike has been shipped. That's faster than buying online locally! Have you got yours yet?
  2. I had a fall at Cape Town Cycle Tour and LBS wrote the frame off. Also insure with Santam and they were quick to pay out after an email or two of following up. How did you find your experience?
  3. As a matter of interest what is the difference in price? Apologies if i missed this somewhere in the thread. I'm keen on the Canton and have worked out with current exchange rate it'll be just under 60k. What does the BMC retail for?
  4. Thanks, they were where i had the racks fitted. Guys are awesome there and offered to fully refund me. On another note it turns that even Merc OEM racks do not allow the roof to fully open!
  5. Just wondering if anyone else has had the same experience as me. I had Thule Aerobars fitted yesterday to my 2015 A200 with a panoramic sunroof only to find that the front feet do not allow the roof to open. You can tilt the roof but it will not open fully. I think this is a bit strange from a company that I would assume has done all the R&D on the cars that it sells (probably hundreds or thousands) of units for. Does anyone know or has had experience with another brand that allows the sunroof to open? Perhaps the Merc OEM racks?
  6. I'd go Enjoy or Cuore (through Privateer). Enjoy is locally made and awesome value but if you looking to drop a bit more cash then Cuore is the way to go.
  7. Go check out some of the brands i mentioned on Instagram and have a look at the designs they bringing out. i feel like if you can get the quality right what then differentiates a brand is its own personal style. Are you going classic like Rapha, la passione, isadore, and the likes or are you going more trendy with stuff like Maap, Attaquer, The Pedla, Babici. If you ever need a test pilot I'm in ;-)
  8. So i think you should had added one/maybe two more categories here. "High End Overseas" as i am seeing more and more guys riding in Rapha and the likes here in Cape Town and then another category for brands like MAAP/Attaquer/The Pedla, etc. I would personally pick these "boutique" aussie brands any day of the week if i had the funds. Their designs are always amazing and I have some bibs and a tops from them and their quality is also exceptional. If you are looking at what is missing on the SA cycling scene i would say it would have be that there are just too few options locally and the local market is just way too conservative when it comes to kit. A guy will go drop R6000 on a pair of Ass(os) bibs and a jersey while he could rather go and pic up something off MAAP or The Pedla that would really make him stand out.
  9. Does anyone know if there is a Microshift agent in SA still? I am in seeeeeerious need of Shimano 11 speed compatible bar end (TT) shifters for next weeks 70.3 race in Durban. I've ordered some Dura Ace shifters online from overseas as the local agent had none but I'm starting to stress they wont arrive in time. I've looked and Microshift make a compatible version I'm willing to try.
  10. I think this is a joke....look at what day they "announce" it on. Also not one pro has worn these in any of the big races so far that ive seen. Surely Oakley would have it on the faces of all its riders like with the Jawbreaker...
  11. I think its her way of making sure i keep my weight down....
  12. My girlfriend returned from the US on Sunday and brought me this along with a cap and matching socks as a surprise...I'm usually a small though and this is an extra small so a lucky someone might get a great shirt if i decide its that bit too small...
  13. Did JOC build this bike for you? I'm sure I saw it on the stand when I collected my new build a few months back. Remember thinking holly hell now that's how you drop some serious cash with style, not just go and buy a Specialized or some other name brand! Excellent taste ol chap!
  14. BikePlus In Constantia sells Lake...not cheap though...
  15. Bought these bibs off a fellow huber yesterday. He had bought the wrong size from Aus. Go have a look at the rest of their kit at www.maap.cc, seriously awesome stuff. We need small boutique brands like this in SA.
  16. Thanks for all the great input guys, I'm going tomorrow to the showroom to check it out. See you there Richard ;-)
  17. Has anyone tried Enjoy Fitness cycling kit? They have some great designs and just wondering what the quality is like? any idea of what the ladies bibs are like as I might get my gf a pair. Going to their showroom in town later this week so will report back if anyone is interested. Lyle
  18. Im waiting for good old SARS to pay me out then im also going shopping!
  19. I'm sure all the weekend warriors with really deep pockets are busy working out how much closer this will get them to a sub-3 argus... haha
  20. Finally, after some tense days wondering if I would ever find the right bb, headset bearings etc John O'connor Cycles called me today to say my build was complete. Let me know what you think.
  21. The final part for my new bike. Specialized Power saddle. Anyone used one before?
  22. Most of the bits are ready to go onto my frame I posted earlier on this thread. Now just waiting on group set and wheels.
  23. Ordered and just waiting for the shipment. I've bought everything except for the pedals. going to be putting them on a Cervelo R3 SL. Now just looking for the trimmings. Does anyone have any suggestions for tyres? The wheels are tubeless but not sure if I should just stick to tyres and tubes or go tubeless.
