  1. Going back to Krugersdorp is fine (edit: legal), going to Pretoria, not so much (illegal).
  2. $20 Winter pass for all CX races, SS will probably only do WC races, right????
  3. They have a variety of groups/ride types, else there is always the 05:00 Palm Tyres option. You're welcome to send me a PM.
  4. Hi Del, You can become a member of the Hillbillies in George.
  5. Thank you for the reminder! I only see African road champs on SuperSportšŸ¤”
  6. Please give us a race report after?
  7. No relation to the OP, but they actually put on events and have a following. I don't twyfel their ability/legitimacy: https://forum.bikehub.co.za/topic/193639-event-sedgefield-500/#comments
  8. So I entered the lottery (a friend told me it was on) and got an entry. I ran the Madibaz 21km in Sept, but apart from that have zero anything else. I entered as prep for MUT 45 and hope to get cracking soon (but first a lazy DC effort). Furthest I've run before was the OMTOM 24km trail some years ago. Wish me luck. Oh and I need to choose a qualifier...
  9. Was my first K2C yesterday. Rode it with mate who forgot his bottles at home. No biggy, each rocky descent had enough to pick and choose from. Was on a DS and was glad I wasn't on a gravel. Felt like I was either going up or down, no real space for recovery. Was also too warmly dressed, and felt a bit stupid tbh. Water points were good and was a bit overwhelmed by having them as close as 10kms apart. Had way too muxh wors at the one stop. Will I be back, probably yes and no. Logistics to an earlier post wasn't ideal, asking the wife to drop us at 06:30 and then fetching us at Knysna (from George) wasn't a back breaker but could be less effort. Saw a variety of riders, under and over-biked, under and over-dressed, which leads me to it is a fan favourite. And due to the scenery probably as well. So maybe in a few years time again. Also wasn't too expensive considering what the others charge. Which might sway me to go back sooner. Thanks to all the organisers.
  10. I assume most of the roads will be public and I assume they hope Montagu pass will be open. Gravel grinder back packing fun.

  12. Was hoping that more gravel pros would consider a trip to Sunny SA for this. But so be it, thanks to the team who put this together, was a goody.
  13. Knife edge stuff, rooting for Kasia!
  14. Saw the same at CP2 and CP3, and thought the same, what flippen muppets.
  15. CP2s goodies were in the big shed, included marshmallows which I also gobbled down. But agreed, can't exactly put a wors in your shirt.
  16. Yes there was milo, had 3/4 myself. And there was tea. At CP5 you can buy coffee and a boerie and whatnot.
  17. There aren't any energy drinks at the any of the tables, only coke and water. The normal food is available at the various CPs, i.e. Roosterkoek at CP1, Sweets (gummies) and Fruit (oranges and bananas) at CP2, SOSATIE WORS at CP3, Soup & bread at CP4, Chip rolls at CP5 and Jafels at CP6. Coffee also available through out. My opinion, I'll take the above over a bar any day. Part of the vibe at Trans.
  18. Sooooo... How's it looking?
  19. Also appreciated his openness across all the forums about the C. Also only had a short engagement with him, but struck me as a nice individual. Very sorry about this huge loss to our community. RIP
  20. Check if you can find accommodation in Uniondale or on that side of the mountain. Else stay in George. Regardless if you're on your own you'll have to pay for the car shuttle. I wouldn't think about driving the pass the morning of, but that's just me.
  21. Seems like we all need a far away break...
  22. This, was waiting for some divine intervention to quiet that wind. Route was also tough, those constant rollers and 2600m climbing. Waterpoints etc were good, if it wasnt for the wind the experience would have been good.
  23. Glad all is relatively ok, and thankful for all the help you received. Good luck!
  24. Eurosport Robbie afterwards drew lines on the screen showing how everyone moved over to the barrier. But ja nee, I don't know no more.
  25. Noted and agreed in principle, but if no one pays to advertise, to support the sport, then SS won't bring it to my TV. The poor timing is down to SS not actually paying attention. I'll take Marriot and Cecil N. Hollywood Bets not so much, but hey I'm no Shark.
