  1. I assume you didn't enter the 2023 Karoo to Coast... Nothing stops you from going and doing the route on your own, most/if not all of it is open to the public. Get your SO to drive support if needed and build a positive memory. As noted many times, the RD didn't call the race, disaster management did. As previously asked, what do you think is a fair percentage, surely it can't be more than 50%. Did you recover all your costs for the 2023 weekend, did Sasol refund you your fuel bill? You win some, lose some.
  2. I couldn't shake 'tashes win the Ashes' watching Alan over the weekend... Flippen super exciting, our mtb prospects (and the Olympics)! Got to be in with a shout for at least a medal here. Wouldn't it be great if both came back home with medals!
  3. Similar with Knysna, if you have both a mtb and gravel, I would go with the mtb for this race as well (given the feedback above). I am going to do it with my mtb (which is a DS), I think the HT would be the best for this. If you're out to win it or comfy with the uncomfort, then probably a gravel.
  4. Will also be lining up, considering to just use a tent for the Friday evening. But looking forward to it. Hopefully the weather is good.
  5. I am glad I wasn't on a gravel bike though (for the mtb), some of the descents would have shaken my bones into another body. Won't ever consider the route on a gravel, but I'm vanilla like that.
  6. Tiz is all over the show today, thanks for this.
  7. Sent you a PM for someone to possibly help.
  8. Enjoyed the mtb on Saturday. There were riders of various abilities on the last piece of snaking single track, but nothing too bad. Route was well marked and waterstops was good. Enjoyed the atmosphere afterwards, but only stayed for a short one.
  9. Fantastic for Bardet, dream come true for him.
  10. On another note, just saw an article about Jacques Freitag missing and having some financial difficulties. It's tough out there.
  11. Got this from a friend, I am however not sure if this is just referencing the old price and disco haven't updated yet.
  12. If you have vitality you get a discount on zwift, apparently...
  13. Why not print from the cross cape website?
  14. Sjoe, leaves one emotional, sad and scared.
  15. Thanks for sharing, enjoyed the read.
  16. Bought a pair of ZRace BR005s off Aliexpress for a previous bike, based on Tracevelo's review, would recommend them to anyone. Edit: Should probably add, they are hydraulic cable actuated brakes, for roughly R1,1/1,200 landed. Was inspired by TRP HY/RD which were unavailable or too expensive. They do make a difference to the braking feel and bite.
  17. No VPN needed for Staylive. No app as far as I know, airplay from the iPad.
  18. No one has binge watched the latest Unchained on Netflix? Some spoilers here: https://velo.outsideonline.com/road/road-culture/juiciest-reveals-of-netflix-tour-de-france-unchained-season-2/
  19. The only other event on the Hub calendar is the Knysna mtb... No money for events and replacement drivetrains. Events pick up from Aug/Sep.
  20. You not lining up for Around the Pot? (Yes weather and all that)
  21. In the vein of School Ties. Glad the two juniors had the courage to speak-up, and wonder how many others were potentially tested.
  22. Should be out tomorrow afternoon their time, according to the commentary.
  23. Enjoyed the ride, corrugations but hey that's part of it. Started at the back of the 50M and made some progress. Saw two guys go down at the turn onto the gravel (gravel bike's wheel slid out). Good mix of gravel and mtb, and the odd ebike. Happy with the waterpoints, yes there was nik naks. Nice atmosphere on the ride and at the finish. Skipped the Stella and headed home. Yes I'll be back, first one and glad to not have braved the mud of last year.
