  1. Thanks for the recommendation, I use to use Hubtiger but they seem to have fallen of the edge of the earth.
  2. Jeepers you're making it difficult to say no...
  3. Why not start with a flatbar and rigid fork? You're going to spend money on shifters and brakes and you might find the bike doesn't lend itself to the setup or you don't enjoy it as much as you want. This also won't result in any throwaway parts.
  4. Sorry for your loss.
  5. Ja nee dis darem 'n innings! Geluk en baie sterkte met die volgende stappe, deel stories en foto's met ons asb. En dankie vir die boodskap hier!
  6. Haven't read through everything said, but will also consider leaving Strava if it gets too much. For now, I wonder the impact of this will be long-term: https://press.strava.com/articles/strava-appoints-google-executive-michael-martin-as-ceo
  7. All good quality brakes, if my budget was a bit better I would have gone for the Juin Techs. The Z-Race was reviewed by Trace Velo in 2022 and it seemed good enough.
  8. I bought zrace br-005 brakes on Aliexpress and received them about a month ago. You can search youtube for some reviews, not a lot out there but good quality so far.
  9. Was entered for the 100 and downgraded to the 50 miler using a DC legs excuse. Also saw the distance between WP2/3 and thought I would have to carry a 3rd bottle or pack potentially. The 50miler was also rollers for days which I enjoyed, WPs were 20km apart and we stopped at each one. Well stocked with friendly peeps and I personally enjoyed the gummies. I was on an alu Momsen with 40s and had to choose my line every now and then, but hey that's gravel for you. The vibe at the finish was lekker with a good variety of pizza being served and the rosette was a nice touch. Yes I'll gladly be back.

Munga is live on the finish line, a bit laggy on my side: https://www.facebook.com/TheMungaMTB/videos/315092788096488/ Edit: Vernon is still 7-odd km out, so still some time.

I see someone posted a live link, but this service wants R38 to register, anyone figure anything out?

Take a bow, hope the man from Nam sees all the support he had on here!

I hope it is just the tracker being a little weird...

Think Thinus will slow a bit again with him starting the climb, and likewise think the climb was the gap closing factor. But lekker nonetheless.

Can't fathom this to be honest... Wonder how Drikus would match up to Benky on the RhinoRun.

Turning to headwind from Sutherland, and about 80km to go for Drikus.

Chalk it up to year-end fatigue and a difficult financial/political/any other relevant context. (0-time Munga finisher)

An aside: Anyone close to the Munga organisers/Erik doing the live broadcasts, that can ask him to tilt the phone or something when interviewing people... An external mic would be great.

Drickus is flying, hope he can keep it up.

Was also thinking about it, given the TT bars on most mtbs... If you a mid pack or not going to win, I would say a mtb with TT bars? If you're at the pointy end then gravel? Just to be a bit different, Nicky (one of the greats) doesn't even have TT bars.

Seems to be the same bike:
