  1. you cannot control rock n roll, it controls you! hahaha... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tqJ9nFHZ5Oo
  2. anyone remember these boys? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tijXfgUC1Rg
  3. Morris seems to bowl well when he is not playing for SA. For me his bowling has let us down too many times.
  4. what boggles my mind is that they appointed Dale Benkenstein full time - who was average at best - but the King they get in on Pay as you Go. it makes no sense.
  5. as an international player, if you have an issue against a particular bowler/bowling style, go and work on it. moer man, he has been in and out of the team since what, 2010? and by now he hasnt figured out how to cope with his hoodoo? this is not just a problem with Miller though, I see it with other players as well. Faf's "dont really care" attitude is really starting to annoy me. and it is like you said, "end of career form". and normally as the sun sets on your career, bad luck/decisions also start to follow you. I see Paarl is sold out, was hoping to go watch a bit of cricket. Its been a while since they had a big match there. Always a great atmosphere.
  6. Without trying to single him out, but David Miller has now been failing for us for years. Some okes just cant step up when needed. Personally my patience with him has run out. Faf also very disappointing with his contributions. It cannot be that we simply collapse when Qdk fails at the top. Faf is a senior player, we can expect more from him. Our tail is way too long, waaaaaay too long! We need bowlers who can at least contribute, not just walking wickets. Where has all the proper ball strikers gone? A Klusener or Kuiper or someone? This lot just don’t inspire any confidence when you see them walking in to bat. From observing the successful teams of late, they have at most 2 specialist bowlers in their side who are absolute donkeys with the bat. We have 4/5. Thats just not going to cut it in any ICC event.
  7. ah ok, joh that's a hectic accident though! wasnt the trucking company also liable for failing to maintain the truck, or something to that effect?
  8. ah I just saw this, my bad... somehow I thought it was PE. still, what was the outcome of that investigation? if any... lack of accountability is mos our national sport.
  9. ja, wasnt it in PE? that was next level insane. wonder what happened with that driver/trucking company?
  10. This will amalgamate about half of the threads on the Hub... https://www.sport24.co.za/Cricket/watch-trump-causes-social-media-stir-in-tendulkar-kohli-tribute-20200224
  11. SA Rock coming to you from the States, no not the Free States... I love this tune! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ET3-t1jFmo0&list=PLA3DFD0EFFED2C2BD&index=68
  12. its a lekker race, i'll see you at the start line, then at the finish line, depending on how long you are willing to wait.
  13. hahaha... this event is tough, i might unclip and walk behind you on the rocky climbs. However I dont walk downhill, only uphill....
  14. Pack your balls, this is a proper MTB event. Looking forward to it!
  15. Indeed sir. But he was schooled at Paarl Boys high and played for the Wellington Cricket Club and Boland until he decided to commit to England, i think around 2009/10/11. I played with him at Bellville for a season, around 2010. But well spotted. As a sidenote, his dad also played cricket in SA, for WP B Transvaal B. Dawid junior was merely born in England, but he was a Saffa until he decided to commit to England. He played all of his junior cricket in SA for the various Nuffield weeks etc.
  16. you forget about Dawie Malan but yes, your point is very valid! Dont forget about the Irish captain and the NZ born allrounder though... EDIT: and the Barbadian fast bowler...
  17. ai, its always something. I hope Temba gets himself sorted soon. Hamza is a good player. Test cricket is just a big step up, and hopefully he has now seen that and comes back stronger. We need a solid nr.3 batsman in our test team, and that is a dark art just like opening the batting. Yes we seem to have a couple of decent keeper/batsmen going around. I also liked what I saw of George Linde when he got a run in India, and he has also been scoring runs this season. I sincerely hope we don't lose him from the system. Having said that, Brexit finally happened and we should now see less players leaving as a result of Kolpak signings. The ancestral visa route will always be there, as was seen with young Bedingham.
  18. hook up with the ride right people and you dont even need to ride the event. my riding partner has seen most of the trails in the Stb area, in 3 years I have not been on a ride with TDFN where he hasn't shown me some old piece of trail or something.
  19. Great to see AD getting involved in SA cricket, my absolute HERO! https://www.sport24.co.za/Cricket/knights-name-allan-donald-as-new-head-coach-20200218 possibly the start we need to strengthen our domestic cricket: appoint qualified coaches!
  20. correct, that little kicker just at the back of the starting point, I know exactly what you mean. or some dude sitting on his brakes in the tech descends. what irks me is 2 things: how the hell does he start in A or B group if he cannot descend or negotiate a "techie climb" and secondly, these skills can be taught! what ever happened to "crawl before walk/run?" do the short ride and build yourself up to the big ride! You don't go to the public swimming pool and try to do somersaults from the 10m platform before you at least tried it on the 5m platform? and then when you complain about it being too difficult on the 10m platform and that everyone should rather just stick to the 5m platform because that's where "most people" can compete.... oh ffs i work myself up over this BS... you make a very sad and valid point thought, and it is symptomatic of society today (this all inclusivity BS) and that is it's all about the MONEY. That's why this year I'm not entering this event, I can ride that valley whenever I feel like it, thus I don't have to sit behind Captain Slowly. The medal is not worth the frustration.
  21. let Klaasen keep wicket in the test side, then QdK can pretty much bat wherever he wants. Im not convinced he is a test opener, however he has opened the batting for the Lions, so maybe thats the way to go. I also dont like the idea of putting so much work on his shoulders. I must admit he has shown some good potential as captain so I like that move. And it has to be said, he is the only guy who's name can be written in INK when you jot down your team for a TEST/ODI/T20. Temba is showing glimpses of good form, Im glad that he came back fighting the way he has. But we cant "Kolisi" him, he needs to be free to score runs in my opinion. Rabada has no experience as captain. To even suggest that is dumb. Lucky for our test side we have only bread crumbs as far as test matches is concerned for the foreseeable future, so all this debate is pretty much useless. So in other words, my contribution to this fred will be limited until then
  22. sence was spoken right there, every word.
  23. but then they can do the shorter ride? or ride another event? surely not every event has to cater for the "masses"? prime example for me is the Fine Breede MTB: that is PROPER mountainbiking, last year i passed a guy who was spending his energy complaining on how "unfairly tough" the event was and he will never do it again bla bla bla - this on a bike far more capable than my HT donkey. I don't get it: we organise "extreme" events and then average Joe complains when he can't complete it. This event is now called "The MTB CHALLENGE". Challenge people, not Fun Ride, Challenge. Challenge yourself.
  24. hahaha... that's how i feel when i sit on the IDT in winter
