  1. Thanx to that technical section, I learned quite a few new bike handling skills today. Why always play it safe when you can push your boundaries and gain so much more. Come rain, wind, gravel or poor marshalling - every experience just makes you stronger!
  2. This one cracks me up! How's that for a mudbath!
  3. And the weather bureau predicted rain ………. gonna be a fun day in the saddle!
  4. Great to see all the signboards all over Durbanville! "99er cycle race Saturday from 06:00 - 13:00 - expect delays on Vissershok road" ( something like that) How's that for event planning!
  5. What worked for me : Eat less, and …….
  6. And none of the bikes have the sizes mentioned? Scam.
  7. 20km wind is nothing. Last year we struggled against a 42km wind! Had to pedal down hill, and was blown all over the road with the side winds. I was crying when I finished out of pure frustration and relief that it was over. Only made me stronger though!

  9. Thanx guys and gals! My children really enjoyed the ride! We should do this more! Thanx Slowbee for organizing and the coffee!
  10. If you are in Cape Town over the weekend: Calling all Cape Town Cyclists! Annual Cape Town Christmas Teddy Bear Ride 2013, 14 Dec. The idea is more of a get together and enjoy a morning out. The ride is not taxing at all and is meant for everyone, including little people and of any fitness level, just to get out on a bike and ride. It is a great way to meet fellow cyclists and do something for charity. We meet at the Seapoint VA and ride to the Camps Bay Vida. Get your teddy bear and lets cycle ….. The charity chosen : http://mecministries.co.za/ray-sunshine-house/ Saturday 14 is the proposed date. The 16th is a public holiday and most folk will already be heading out on holiday, so Saturday morning seems the most viable. As mentioned the idea is for the ride to be family friendly, so the little ones can join in. Meeting Place: Virgin Active Seapoint Time: 09H00 Heading to Vida at Camps Bay, nice and easy so anyone of any fitness, in any shape, on any pedalled machine can join.

  22. Could you please contact Theo Bruwer at 082 898 4975.
  23. Would be great to have a 22-25km/h average group to ride with. All the groups are 28 up to 35, and us slower folk always feel left out. What would be really great is when an old timer who isn't into racing for time anymore could help us slower riders when training!
