  1. Aaah. The Rivonia offramp traffic jam is back. Megawatt Park parking issues with the 7km cycle to the start As a starting and finishing venue, it’s not bad. Remember how many exhibitors there was back in the day? It should be made compulsory that local bike shops are allowed to exhibit for a nominal fee, without selling a liver and kidney on Gumtree to cover the cost.
  2. Greetings Hubbers Looking for some suggestions on MTB routes in and around Somerset West over December. 1 - 3 hours options. Not phased about technicality or ascending/descending Thanks
  3. Was no 19 for me. A ride a love to participate in. Loved every km of it. To all the countless number of people offering up their free time to work/assist at this race, Thank you. To all the stronger riders whos wheels I could suck onto that pulled me along, Thank you The Chamberlain's waterpoint after Kyalami giving out 750mm water bottles, Thank you To the water tankers spraying as down, Thank you G20 Exercise on Saturday closing up most of the entrances gets a thumb down Having the Wall of fame so close the registration area made for crampy conditions Queuing to park on Sunday at 4:40am with 3 lanes turning into 1 circle was DOF! 4. Morning Hubland Anyone here tried GKI measurements with diet options in conjunction with their cancer treatment journey? Anyone with experience and recommendations on what device they used?

  8. Hi all Is this product available locally
  9. What parts are you looking for? I might have some spares
  10. Around here we call them Ystervark tires! They have so many snot-stokkies them, like quills from a Porcupine Not to worry, a proper plug can last a long time. Or you can leave the thorns in and take a gamble. Hope you have tubeless tires
  11. The upper part of the track has many loose sandy sections, which I did not enjoy. The bottom part is way better, with fast flowing single track and corners. It was around 28km with 100m elevation There are some serious thorns there. I removed around 5 which was about 2cm in length
  12. My draadkameel
  13. Received my rear wheel from Lyne components. Fitted first time like a glove. Good service from them
  14. Thanks Droo I will contact Lyne in the meantime
  15. Thanks Judging by this drawing, I'm not sure it will work. How did you damage your rim?
  16. Hi Hubbers Can a loose Mavic crossmax ST rear hub ratchet ring be repaired? The ratchet ring turns inside the hub. My rant I purchased these wheels from a fellow hubber (DevonHolmes) a while a go for a future bike build. Well the time arrived approx 4 weeks ago The rear wheel was sold without a free hub. Then it arrives without a rear axle too! He did not know what the difference is between a freehub and axle. Long story - short, ordered all the parts required to complete the wheel from Mavic (R 2,800), only to find the ratchet ring inside the hub is loose. I did give him an opportunity to respond, maar hy is nou soos mis voor son! Passop vir Mnr Devon Holmes
  17. Thanks for that! My Bad, i needed to say boost hubs, not rims. Understanding woman would be easier that getting a set of non boost wheels, 15mm front through axle with 140mm rear with QR adaptors. I'm from the great North, was in JHB over 2 weeks ago. Went to 7 cycling shops to buy wheels, no one has stock. Fitting a micro spline or XD driver is like asking for the correct lotto numbers! Another Tool that was impossible to find in all the shops was a freaking Vernier to measure axle length. The "mega" shop also sold me a used shimano RD, for the price of a new one off coarse.
  18. Hi Hubbers Is there any cyclists here that has knowledge on rear rim options for a NON boost Cannondale hardtail FSi frame (QR) I recently purchased a new set STANS rims from some "mega" store in PTA. Long story short, they send me the boost version. I was told that Cannondale can only use specific rims that are dished to one side? Is this true? So it should be an A-symmetrical setup? Thanks
  19. Here is some insight from an importer of European machinery. Pre covid: Manufactured steel (components) Euro 800.00/ton 1 year into covid Euro 1,600/ton January 2020 = Euro 2,400.00/ton Currently pre orders to secure product and availability = Euro 3,000.00/ton Pre Covid cargo airfreight : Euro 2.40/kg Currently at Euro 4.30/kg Limited flights also Shipping cost from China increased x 3 with huge delays (Ships and containers) And then, the middleman also has to take his cut. So I can tell you, things are not going to change any time soon
  20. Hy sĂª jou twee keer, selfde soos Grey en Affies
  21. Maybe if they change it to the 942 Race, they will get it right
  22. Emmarentia. The Sun is getting up later too
  23. No, i tried free hand on 3mm and decided against it. I used a local glass company to cut a template out of 2 x 3mm pieces as a standard sheet is 2.4m in length, and the table is 3m. Tracing the outline on the glass template eliminated a lot of guess work to have it run parallel to the live edge. They then used the 3mm template to cut a 6mm sheet (I think that is 3.2m in length) Note to self, dont use flitches/slabs longer than 3m, unless you want to sell a kidney to buy glass in full length options
  24. I managed to fit the glass. 6mm thick and almost 2,000 Madibas later And a few router lessons later
