There does not appear to be any logic.I questioned the customs official who phoned me as I thought it was value based (my order was R11.5k)not so it appears to be random.Another hubber's parcel is 3k and also detained.It was not a huge inconvenience, merely the fact that I got nailed duties.
OK! so my parcel was detained by SARS.Contacted by a Customs official and told to appoint an agent if I wanted my parcel to clear. Used ngala24 and his service is excellent collected my parcel today still only took 7days from date of order. Thanks G.
Have to agree with Lotus here.We should fund this "control room" that is there to assist in the event of emergency.Does this include an emergency created by a resident knocking a cyclist down??

Hey Guys I've been following this thread with interest takeing a closer look at classic bikes lately.I have seen two bikes that might interest you.At Linden cycles they have a red Colnago for sale.Brett from Bikebay has a Colnago Bi-titanio for sale only problem is it has Ultegra gruppo,but Campy wheelset,you can view on his website.He also has two newer Colnago frames awesome.
I have had two frames done by cycleart and not a problem.I find it really strange that they would deliver a frame still "wet" he is very careful with the drying time even with me phoning and bugging him to hurry up.
Just have to post this,I bought a DA R/D from matchstix,I discovered upon fitment that the thread on the cable clamp was stripped beyond repair.He duly replaced the R/D with a brand new Ultegra unit posted to me at his cost. Well done and thank you !!!!

Thanks for the comments,Update my Racexlite bars arrived this afternoon(thanks Evans cycles).So the "maja the bee" tape is off and good old black is on,if I manage to get the black bottle cages tomorrow I will put up the pics. Outsurance has a policy called out&about.I insured my bikes with them and they definately cover damages/writeoffs in a race.I have just confirmed this again with them.I am paying R330.00 for two bikes total value R40K, with an excess of R250.00.
I was in the same group on saturday morning and I heard you speaking to him when he dropped the sachet.He really annoyed a few people up and down the group flying past on the downhills on the outside then barely making it up the climbs.A real twat!
Got to agree unfortunately! I'm a roadie and often ride alone on saturday morning's randburg area and lot of roadies don't even look in your direction.I'm a newbie can't figure this? Jon
