  1. I'm going over to Dunkeld Cycles just to see that poster.
  2. For spectator safety. If they want to see budgies they can go hang out at Vida.
  3. As a bit of reassurance… if you don't clear those doubles you'll be going so slowly you wouldn't hurt yourself anyway. The landings at the Scout Hall are very generous, it really is a very forgiving line. Just say "fuggit" and try it. The moment you clear it you'll realise how insanely easy it is and you'll kick yourself for not having tried sooner.
  4. Yeah, 5pm to 9pm apparently.
  5. Any other guys keen to join me for a stuff around session at Jozi-X on Wednesday evening? 5 to 9, I think. Weather permitting.
  6. Yeah, we've got acres of space on the side of the trails here and no real high-speed sections. I'm keen to go to CT just to ride those Tokai downhill trails.
  7. Nah, fair enough, I haven't. And having read through all the responses here it makes complete sense to have some MTB only dedicated trails. I definitely agree with that. Especially where you've got high speed and technical sections. My response was a generalised one as I thought the thread was a broad one, not limited to Tokai. I cycle and run through and along Delta Park and the Spruit here and I've encountered plenty of delicates who are too terrified to leave the trail on their bikes for fear of tearing their lycra. Either that or they're just douchebags. Hard to tell. My general rule of thumb on shared trails is give way to the person coming uphill as they've got a much tougher time of it. I've been pushing hard up a hill on a running time trial before and you come across some tubby princess on his carbon frame coming the other direction yelling at you to get out the way. Uh, no dude, try putting your suspension to use for the first time in its life.
  8. Just wallride around them.
  9. You guys know that mountain bikes have the ability to ride off trails as well. Have you tried riding around people?
  10. Based on the title I thought this was just going to be a picture of him at a computer.
  11. I'm trying to put together a wheelset for dirt jumping to improve on the standard stock on my Fireball. Is there any real purpose for a QR hub on a dirt jumper? The bolt on seems like a more robust option but will I be able to use one on a bike that's got QR hubs without having to whip out the angle grinder?
  12. Just out of interest, if you had gone into AS, how should a passer by help you?
  13. Wed 5-9pm and Sun 2-5pm. You have to tape up all the sharp bits on your bike apparently.
  14. You guys only just meet the minimum requirements of public decency laws with your longtights, don't push it.
  15. Is that inflatable landing any good? Is anyone keen to go try out a few new tricks there over the weekend?
  16. They were two guys in Santa outfits. One of them got bumped in the leg by a car, apparently, which led to an altercation that the Metro cops separated. Then they heard the driver complaining to the cops and they came running back and beat him up pretty badly. Was a very ugly incident and completely unnecessary.
  17. Pity about the two douchebags assaulting the motorist at the end. Put a damper on what was otherwise a pretty fun ride.
  18. So much for incentivising.
  19. Seeing as it's Movember I assume all the guys will be riding without saddles as part of the whole 'check your prostate' theme.
  20. In case of damage, throw more soil on top. Beat the **** out of it. Repeat as needed.
  21. Shovel as much soil as you can into a pile as high and wide as you can. Beat the **** out if it. Repeat.
  22. It's a description of me on a bike. Could just be riding to the shops.
  23. The seat is pretty soft and doesn't feel all that uncomfortable in the small of your back. The tyres that come standard aren't the big, grippy type, which is great as they don't cause too much damage to your balls when you fall off the back trying to manual. The bars are quite low, which gives you decent room when you're flying over the top of them. The grips are also quite soft, which is nice on the chin. Pedals don't offer a lot of grip but the flip side of that is they're not too hard on the shins. I rate it an 8/10 - would crash again!
  24. You asking me? Mine's still got the standard fork it came with, not sure what it is but it isn't anything special. I've set it to be as stiff as it can go.
  25. How you feeling this morning? Is it going to need surgery or just a cast?
