  1. Turned out to be a very scenic ride.
  2. Loved it! Proper MTB route with epic scenery. Pity about the bit at the end where someone put up that barricade and riders returned to the road instead of going for the last loop. But still very enjoyable. This guy got it right : www.strava.com/activities/1377095709 My only two wishes would be for better marking/marshaling and for more riders to upgrade to flat pedals. Jinne, I was so frustrated behind cleat riders walking perfectly rideable bits of single track
  3. Stellenbosch is FAR better off than Cape Town. The Idasvalley dam is full and can serve Stellenbosch for 4 months if needed. Plenty of boreholes were sunk next to the Eden and Mont Marie trail and the water treatment plant there is being upgraded. 4. Tempting. Did this for the first time in 2016 and it was tough, but rewarding.
  5. Klappit! Looking forward to this one again.
  6. Just because it is 99km again and it's a new route... I'm in!
  7. I'm in! Love this ride.
  8. Wind was hectic last night! We had a big branch come down from an old oak tree on our farm at Vlottenburg.
  9. Dammit, that is a lot of work that was done. Was thinking about them last week when I went down there and it was rather tight.
  10. Please support the farms around Bottelary Hills, they make some magnificent wines. All of which is available at the Bottelary Hills Wine Center. http://bottelaryconservancy.co.za/bottelary-hills-wine-centre/ Yesterday I enjoyed this lovely Chardonnay from Goede Hoop.
  11. I actually have a poster of le chat noir somewhere...
  12. Only City of Cape Town that has a problem, things are a bit better in Stellenbosch.
  13. Bottelary Hills, my usual weekend playground.
  14. No, I follow them on my bicycle but can't seem to keep up.
  15. I don't get the reference to the coffee and bread and socks?
  16. I work at Stellenbosch Square and stay in Welgevonden, so in the afternoon I do Eden, Coetzenburg and some of the other trails around it. On a typical ride home I will do this : http://www.sports-tracker.com/workout/rouxenator/5a4cfccef1757207722692eb
  17. Thanks, I changed jobs in 2013 just to keep having this as my daily commute. Very grateful for it. This time of year the klipsalmanders are a lot of fun on the trail.
  18. Going home the best way
  19. I think that they have been negotiating with the respective communities to ensure that protests are not a problem this year. However, that does not mitigate environmental risks like fire or wind and at this stage the road surface of Chapmanspeak is uncertain. For Argus to survive this #take2 needs to go down flawlessly. Then again, this is just a Sunday funride for me. The real Argus is the week before, on dirt
  20. If something does go wrong then the reputation of this funride is shot.
  21. well played sir!
  22. Yes, in fact it is encouraged.
  23. Going home on the daily commute
