  1. Awesome ride! Did this last year and my mind was blown. Sadly have to give it a skip this year. But if it is back on the weekend of the 15th next year I'll be there.
  2. That Jordan loop is awesome. Durbie Dash Sent from my MotoG3 using Tapatalk

  4. Element is awesome! Was there last weekend.
  5. OK, so I arrived 5 minutes before the start, cutting it fine. Woke up at 6 and cycled there. It's been a few weeks since I have been on these trails but I have to say hats off the trailblazers - they really have done an awesome job in preparing the trails - and this is Bottelary hills - the best trails around Stellenbosch. As could be expected I did not set any PRs on the segments due to race traffic but I did have a chat with a few folks riding this for the first time and they loved it. Some rode last year in the rain and said it is a completely different experience - the absolutely loved it this year. There were a few litterbugs and two people (one from PRG) did come off their bikes on the bit of single track next to Zevenwacht. Did not seem too serious. Maybe they will upgrade to the more agile tekkies and flat pedals soon. Absolutely loved the floating bridge. I really hope Backsberg brings back theirs for 2018. these things are so much fun. Thank you to STBB for organising such a lovely event. Next year I hope to see a super long route making use of some of the newly added trails because they are epic. Many thanks yet again to Bottelary Hills Conservancy, you have the best single track in Stellenbosch. I look forward to buying my year permit every year. Was cool to go "up" cork screw once more.
  6. Almost as slow as 2013 - the windy one.

  10. The 30km on Saturday was one of the few races where I could finish in the top 10
  11. Awesome event! Pity this year it is on the same weekend as Langebaan. Next year then...
  12. Entered. Might just do it twice seeing as I already paid to do that. Pity to see the MTB events downsizing to a single day event. I quite enjoyed doing both days of the MTB event and ending up with 4 CTCT results.

  15. I see what you did there. But that's never gonna happen. Rode my best K2C, TransKaroo and Cederberg 100 miler on cheap tekkies from Ackermans. I keep my cleats where they belong... on the road bike.
  16. Thanks for clearing that up. With the direction changes on the blue section, where the corkscrew is, will this be going the old direction?
  17. Net so! Maar ek kan om dit draf
  18. Awesome ride! Went from doing a ride the furthest from home (Uniondale) to one next to home. Perfect weather, great vibe, managed to finish on a borked chain. Sent from my MotoG3 using Tapatalk
  19. Hi Anna, about the 60KM, is it going to be that exact route this year? For the past 3 years the route has not been like that since it excludes the Orange loop on the North side. This is how the long route has been since the introduction of the 60KM.
  20. Excellent! Could you find the horse tracks?
  21. I already told Hellwrap about it, when I rode on Saturday I counted about 6 doing the extended Ribbok ST. We will no doubt see more of this as the wind finishes off the trees that burnt to death last year. But mapstieks! That Jordan loop is spectacular! Loved it out there this weekend.
  22. Ek stem. Only time I opt for closed finger gloves is when it goes below 0'C like with the start of Transkaroo in Sutherland.

  24. Here's a cool trick guys. I've done it a few times. Enter for the long route, go all out and then the next day... do the One Tonner 170KM... nothing beats the kind of stukkend you'll feel after that.
  25. I rode everything, but there was many times I had to slow down to a near stop because people had to "unclip". Honestly folks, of there is single track or technical section on a ride use flat pedals and tekkies.
