  1. So when they created noisy exhaust pipes on Harley's their primary goal was to make car's aware of them and not to stand out in a crowd to be seen?
  2. The roadies hate the Harley's, the Harley's hate the roadies, we all hate the taxi's. The MTB's hate the dog walkers, the dog walkers hate the MTB's. It seems we ALL feel that we are entitled to EVERYTHING! I think we all just need to be a little more friendly with each other
  3. Two sides to every coin I agree. But man your ego, it's impressive
  4. I only noticed the empty ones, I think by Sunday afternoon the locals were onto it. Probably a hit on one
  5. Shall do, it just blows my mind how such damage can be done
  6. Wish I had taken a photo, the one is missing, the other one is half out (Like someone tried to take it but failed) and the concrete/brick structures they are placed are chiselled away and super badly damaged
  7. Does anyone have a photo of these? Was riding past this weekend and it honestly looks like a small mob of miners came with pickaxe's and started mining the man hole... It can't be people bailing as it's pretty impossible to bail to the side of these things... The man holes in question are the one's between Victory park and Emmarentia... Anyone have any idea's?
  8. Man its a logo for Strava, lets not get too technical here...
  9. Instead of having a post like this one, maybe before a race you should ask the masses (Thehub) about a specific race before entering? Then you will get all replies from all kinds of riders... It will give you a feel for the race and what kind of riders enjoyed it. But the best is try it yourself and learn from it (Yes they are not cheap lessons to learn sometimes)
  10. I think the only banning required is crazy aunty's!
  11. The least of my worries is actually a tree and breaking my bike!
  12. Point taken, considering the thin ice maybe my view is not winning anyone's vote... Rest of the Spruit has never been much of a problem as there is so much space to avoid people (Going down) so never been an issue. But I will think next time, need to win over some dog walker hearts
  13. Prefer that to a tree and a broken bike
  14. This makes me laugh so much! Because I honestly wouldn't know who in their right mind would ride up this... You can see by the trail design that it is meant for down (I mean there are even lips and humps for jumps). A second trail was made next to it for people going up though? And if you do ride up it have some common logic, because you are probably riding for fitness which is perfect (So you can get just as fit riding next to the line) and let the people have some fun going down. PS... If you are an adult MTB person coming up this line I will happily go straight into you, but if you are a child or someone I see does not ride often and is going on a chilled ride in Emmarentia I will happily move. (As these people don't know the trail)
  15. Well then next time I will do more than block the trail by swerving left and right! I have been also rather concerned about this, are we allowed to put up arrows at the end and start of that section on wooden poles. This could stop the "newbies" riding it the wrong way?
  16. It is an open set of grass that I guess we don't have much say over them, but we can express our feelings towards them when we see them... As they do ruin the trail I believe
  17. Does anyone know who this guy is? I see him sometimes on a mountain bike and today he was on this black rig that was too much of bike porn! Just want to ask what it is and where does he commute to/from? Because I am investigating routes to Sandton...
  18. I just want to say to all the people that work on the Spruit how you have changed the place so much in the last year, because of you guys its still honestly my favourite place to ride in the city! From about two years there were hardly any good jump lines to now that there quite a few running around and they are awesome to ride! And so far city parks isn't on to us about any of which is a very good thing (Except for the old lady by Emmarentia) Just want to say thanks, that place really has had the biggest effect on my riding!
  19. Or in Emmarentia. those dog walkers would start a petition to rid the country of camels!!
  20. Well said! Yeah man you got it, life is tough in the wild west! Just the other day man, this guy he looked at me a funny and reached into his jacket, and BAM popped a cap in his ass! I found all he was getting was his phone, but he should know not to play games in the wild wild west
  21. If you scared of a stick you shouldn't be on a MTB.... You betta getta shootin rambo, lots a killing to be a done
  22. If the attacker is unarmed he will get away probably? As said in another thread, there is quite a big distance between the head and the trigger
  23. I guess we are between a rock and a hard place, at this rate it is inevitable that the thread will come along one day "Rider shot for bike on a local trail", when that day comes I feel sorry for what cycling in this country has come to. Each to their own, it's your life
  24. Incident 1: Bike jackers attack with stick, get bike but no biker badly harmed Incident 2: Biker buys gun, defends himself with gun and attackers run away, no one harmed. Incident 3: Bike jacker buys gun and shoots biker off his bike, biker doesn't even see it. Person harmed and bike stolen You guys are onto something here, bunch of geniuses!
