  1. It won't disappoint, even with the aggressive setup, it's good on long rides, rolls really well, uphill (as good as your legs), fantastic downhill... absolutely no complaints, plus it's stunning. I'm on my second one already, I think this thread is going to turn into a Reacto fan page ...😆
  2. I agree with your sentiments about the group, also started in 1B, managed to just miss the first break on Edinburgh, but we got back to the main group around Muizenburg (a few guys working), the mood in the group was somber and silent (I've been to funerals with a better vibe), its by far the weirdest CTCT of the 10, I've done... Maybe because most made peace with the fact that the chance of a sub 3 was gone by the time we summited Smits (we went way to slow in the wind, too many people just sitting on).... worked too hard in the first 50km, started cramping after Smits but eventually managed to get in with a 3:15....
  3. Howzit David Firstly, there is no reason to apologise for your mental health or be ashamed of it. We are all under stress, and I'm sure cycling is an outlet for many of us here. So when things get tough, don't be too hard on yourself. You are doing a great job with these cats, I can see you are surrounded by love. Please let us know how we can contribute/donate...
  4. Please will you share the file with me, thanks.... marshall@marshallcookdesign.com
  5. … I didn’t get this yesterday, but certainly understand now… having been tuned in for the last 40 min… with no bike in sight.
  6. Sam, thank you for sharing this experience with us, I really enjoyed it, and it is inspiring. I felt almost all the emotions with you, can't imagine pushing yourself so hard … but I think the overall message I'm taking from you is just being grateful to have opportunities, health and wonderful family support. You really are setting is a great example being competitive and considerate of those around you. Well done on your achievement and here's to many more bike rides.
  7. Awesome...also can't wait, thank you for sharing@Sam81
  8. ... glad you're here to tell the story and sharing the love, maybe one day when I'm all grown up...
  9. The Epic on a single speed ????..... great story, authentic and inspiring. Good luck Fykz and Waxhead.
  10. How much is an annual subscription to GCN+ if you are in SA?
  11. For me, Bike Hub Pay is the answer.... if we're willing to support this platform there will be no such incidents.Yes, you pay a percentage for the service, but it's way better than paying "school fees" and not to mention the stress associated with the process.
  12. Great news, being able to buy stuff from outside my regional pool with confidence...
  13. Thanks for the advice, just called them, super helpful, they are going to collect my device to have a look at it, see if they can repair it locally first....

  16. I have an Elite Dorito Plus, no issues for the last year and 3 months. Last week started experiencing an issue that is rather common based on the ELITE FB page... loud knocking sound when pedaling. https://www.facebook.com/100012585758523/videos/1076817689414413 https://www.facebook.com/100002048679581/videos/g.1380212845399014/3452013478210241 My device has a two-year warranty, contacted Elite support online (waiting on feedback) and the store where I purchased the device (was told to bring it in and it will be shipped back to supplier in Italy for repairs). Question: Does anyone have any experience or know of anyone's experience returning a faulty device back to ELITE (Italy). Do I attempt to fix it myself and risk voiding my warranty or should I just take it back to be shipped and wait however many months to get it sorted?
  17. lol, like what are you ever going to hardwire to your smart trainer... nothing to see here folks... that's probably why it's not been hyped-up by any sort of marketing campaign.
  18. Aahh a fellow Sufferlandrian... Those are the reasons I use Sufferfest as well (did the Tour https://thesufferfest.com/pages/community-tour-of-sufferlandria-2020# earlier this year in Feb, after a 12 week plan and it pushed me to the limit)... Sufferfest is more structured and the additional yoga is great for recovery, I swear by it. 4DP is the best (toughest) fitness test I've done to determine your 5sec, 1min, 5min, 20m power numbers... If you want to take a break from all the serious suffering and just be part of a community then Zwift is perfect. I really like the race options or climbing up Alpe du Zwift. It's great to compare your own performance / improvements over time. I really miss this when using Sufferfest, you can be stuck in an 8-12 week training plan but then have no in app way (like a race) to test your fitness level without outside competition. This can mess with your head, motivation, then you start doubting everything... Anyway, use both, that's my suggestion... no reason not to.
  19. Ha ha, SwissVan, you are not difficult, I felt everyone of those teeth. I couldn't understand how 1% or 2% inclines were so hard (smart trainer). I'm new to Rouvy-land so mind my inexperience.... Big thanks to Clinton for setting it up ... will be there for the next one!
  20. Any streaming service for this event?
  21. Hi I'm in the Northern suburbs and need someone to help with alignment / truing a wheel/rim. Noticed this wheel had a slight offset. If you know where I can get it done, I would appreciate the feedback, thanks.
