Pedal based units are the only ones you can swap between bikes easily (provided you ride SPD on both) Single sides obviously has the drawback of only measuring one leg (and doubling that). In my experience there is very little crime on these trails precisely because so few people ride them. Criminals are not daft so they rather hang out in places where there’s lots of opportunities like Spruit etc.

Incorrect, there are tons of free trails in the blocks between HP / Beyers and Malibongwe on both the Randburg and cradle side of the N14. We regularly clock up 50-70km.....to start exploring I suggest you go left from trail parallel to Beyers iso right down satellite hill

Often ride the cradle (on tar) during the week and it's great...basically have the roads to yourself

Clearly Groenewegen is in the wrong on this one, no dispute. BUT all sprinters are stark raving mad and on occasion get carried away in terms of their need to win. Compound that with the first race of the season for many and many fighting for contracts...recipe for gladiator stuff. Groenewegen's own motto is podium or jodium....
