I have not ridden there so can't comment on how hard it is to see that trail / path to the left. Mireille is my wife. I was on the phone to her as she went back to try and find the path and only when I assured her that it should be there she found it. That was in the dark and her brain was pretty mushy at the time but still ... clearly not very obvious She also said that at other tricky points Alex had put some markers ... maybe that could have prevented some of the trouble

Don't think Alex will let you finish too late as he cannot assume responsibility for people being still en route well after the event has finished

Three girls are riding together ... by my calculations they will miss cut off by 30-60 minutes ... still an absolute monumental achievement

She would be 100% fine with that. Gonna be touch and go for them if they ride straight through.

My wife is riding together with Chantal ... they agreed to wait a bit for the wind to die and then go to Britstown. The plan was to start at 4 again but seems they are still at WP4

I'm familiar with the route you've got to and around the dam: It is pretty busy in terms of traffic but has a wide shoulder and I have no problem riding it. The bit you have after the bridge across the dam on the way back I do not know but it looks interesting. Please post here if it worked out and what you thought of it.
